Takshanuk ATV Tour from Haines
When you arrive at the trail head your knowledgeable guide will instruct your family’s driver on how to operate the Kawasaki Mules. Don’t want to drive? No problem! We can accommodate those who want to ride along and enjoy the views! The mules are equipped with convertible tops for those traditional Southeast Alaska days and your guide can provide you with blankets, gloves and rain ponchos if necessary. Start your journey up the trail and enjoy the lush forest and scenic views peeking through the trees. The first mile of trail has 17 switchbacks and gains the most elevation, starting at sea level and taking you to 1,100 feet in elevation for your first stop at our exclusive mountain lodge. Here you’ll take in the breathtaking views of the beautiful Lynn Canal and Coastal mountain range. You’ll also be treated to fresh baked cookies straight out of the oven along with coffee, hot chocolate, tea and lemonade. After the lodge you’ll continue on the trail for another scenic mile, passing cascading waterfalls and crossing crystal clear mountain streams. Your guide will make a stop at a scenic alpine lake to take in the views and scan the mountain side for wildlife. The natural lake is fed by cascading waterfalls down the backside of Mt. Ripinsky. When the season is right you can pick wild Alaskan blueberries and salmon berries that are abundant in this area. As you continue to the end of the trail at 1,500 feet, be prepared to catch your breath for the stunning vista of Chilkoot Lake and the Lutak inlet. A gorgeous alpine meadow awaits those who wish to take a short hike up the hillside to enjoy the wildflowers that soak up the sunshine at this higher elevation. The return portion of your tour will take you back to our exclusive lodge where you will be served a deliciously prepared beer-battered halibut and roasted chicken meal. Vegetarian meals and special dietary requests are available with a 24-hour notice. After this fantastic homemade meal and time to relax in the lodge, you will make your way back to the trail head. For those who took the Takshanuk Trail bus to the trail head, your return trip to town will include a scenic tour of Haines and Fort William H. Seward, the first permanent army base in Alaska.
Yukon Discovery Tour
Tour begins by climbing the mountainous Klondike Highway, driving by mini-bus, north to the US/Canadian border, paralleling the 1898 Gold Rush Trail to the White Pass summit at 3292 feet. Along the way, view coastal rainforest, magnificent waterfalls, glaciers, and snow capped peaks. We make multiple stops at scenic views like Moore Creek bridge, Welcome to Alaska sign, Summit Lake and Tormented Valley. Once in Canada, we journey through spectacular scenery of dramatic lakes encircled by mile-high mountains and the Northern Boreal forest wilderness. Stunning Tutshi and Tagish Lakes, the Welcome to the Yukon sign and Bove Island viewpoints are all great photo stops. In Carcross, stand on the shores of historic Lake Bennett, see the "World’s Smallest Desert” and marvel at the gorgeous green Emerald Lake. We watch for wildlife (including bears, moose, caribou, dall sheep and mountain goats) all along our route. For lunch, we stop at Caribou Crossing where you’ll see the North’s premier educational wildlife gallery, featuring over 100 Yukon and Ice Age taxidermy animals, including the world’s largest mounted polar bear. Included are displays on Gold Rush history and Canadian Mounties. There is a Yukon gift shop for souvenirs. Lunch is delicious BBQ chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, homemade bun, coffee or tea, and yummy donuts. (Vegetarian/vegan/gluten free option of lentil curry and rice is available. Lunch orders are taken at departure time). You’ll also visit the sled dog camp during our time there, where you can interact with the husky dogs and puppies. All guests will be able to view and photograph the puppies, either napping or playing in their pen, however one-on-one interaction time with them is not guaranteed. Residing at the puppy area are also two adorable Pomskies (a fluffy mix of husky and pomeranian). They will greet groups and be available for photos. Also onsite is a Petting Farm with horses, ponies, rabbits, donkeys, chickens, alpacas and goats to interact with and feed. 6.5 Hour Kenai Fjords National Park Wildlife & Glacier Tour
We will head out into Resurrection Bay and venture into Kenai Fjords National Park viewing many species of wildlife as we travel toward one of Kenai Fjords most active and impressive tidewater glaciers. Here we will watch and listen to the powerful sights and sounds of the glacier. Most likely we will see ice breaking off (calving) and crashing into the ocean. It truly is a magnificent sight! Once we’ve spent some quality time at the glacier, we’ll venture out to do some more wildlife viewing while taking in some of nature’s most spectacular scenery. Depending on weather and wildlife sightings, we may visit the Chiswell Islands (a National Wildlife refuge and Bird sanctuary) and/or Cape Resurrection (one of the largest black-legged kittiwake rookeries in Alaska). Everyday is a different adventure and experience! The power of Mother Nature does not disappoint. Kenai Fjords is one of the best areas for whales and wildlife viewing and offers the opportunity to see a variety of different species. Our most common sightings include Humpback Whales, Sea Otters, Steller Sea Lions, Puffins, Dall’s Porpoise, Mountain Goats, Harbor Seals, Orca Whales (Killer whales) and a large variety of bird species. We will provide you with a vast amount of information on all of the animals and surrounding areas that we’ll be exploring throughout the day. In addition, we will have marine mammal books, bird guide books, and other informational material on board. Nothing can compare to seeing all of this natural beauty up close and personal. Our small group tours will not only provide you with a more intimate experience, but also a much more personalized and flexible tour. Our vessel, the Outright, is a 47’x15′ aluminum catamaran and is U.S. Coast Guard certified to hold 30 passengers, but we limit it to 15-22 passengers to maximize your space and comfort. Travel down Exit Glacier Road for views of Kenai Fjords National Park's famous Exit Glacier! Next, visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a 200-acre natural habitat that provides wildlife education and rehabilitation for some of Alaska’s favorite animals! This is Alaska’s only guaranteed wildlife viewing! Get close enough to observe and photograph some of our favorite land animals such as moose, reindeer, bison, wolves, and more! While we cannot guarantee bears due to the size of their habitat, however, it is common to see both brown and black bears at the Conservation Center! Make sure to take photos of wildlife with the amazing backdrop of the Chugach Mountains and Turnagain Arm! Visit to the quaint town of Girdwood and a favorite local eatery for lunch (provided). After lunch, ascend up the side of Mt. Alyeska on an aerial tram. From the top (weather permitting) take in views of several glaciers and the upper reaches of a temperate rainforest. Continue along the Turnagain Arm, an All-American Road, and National Scenic Byway. Look out for alpine scenery, hanging glaciers, and potential wildlife! Upon arrival in Anchorage, you'll be transferred directly to the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport where you will be helped with off-loading your luggage, or you may be dropped off at your Anchorage hotel!

Welcome aboard the beautiful Hopscotch, a 50' Beneteau Oceanis SV Hopscotch is our pride and joy! She is 50 ft of adventure, love, sweat, and (occasionally) tears! One thing that makes Hopscotch unique is that she is foreign built (in France), however she has Jones Act Waivers to operate in the waters of Washington State and Alaska. She is a USCG documented vessel, ported out of Skagway, Alaska, and can take up to 6 guests at one time along with crew. Hopscotch is rated as an Ocean Going Vessel (she has crossed the Atlantic) and we take her upkeep and maintenance extremely seriously. We operate Hopscotch in remote areas, and safety is our top priority. One unique thing about your Hopscotch crew is that they all have their US Coast Guard Captains License. As required by the Coast Guard, they are also all trained in CPR/First Aid, and participate in a Random Drug Testing Program. It also boasts a museum, petting farm, husky puppies, a cafe, and gift shop—making it an all-around great stopover on a road trip or tour. -($45 per person) Race through the Yukon wilderness as you take Alaskan Huskies on an exercise training. This 15 minute ride is fully guided on a side-by-side and guide. Includes Tale of the Trail talk. -($36 per adult, $32 per kid) Our homestyle BBQ chicken is prepared fresh daily for a serving time of 11:30 to 2:00 by our chef Dexter. The meal is composed of grilled Chicken, Roasted Potatoes, homemade coleslaw, and all you can eat Donuts, with bread, butter, coffee and tea. Vegetarian option includes veggie daal with rice. Our ample seating allows for groups of all sizes. Additionally, we can stop at the suspension bridge, which is a cost of $16 per person.

Here, on the extreme western edge of the primeval Tongass National Forest, stretches the mighty Gulf of Alaska and the nutrient-rich waters of Sitka Sound. This is an amazing place...one that is literally teeming with wildlife! Whales, sea lions, seals, sea otters, porpoises and fish, as well as puffins, murrelets, eagles, brown bears and much more are our closest neighbors. Those interested in truly wild places and in photographing, listing, or simply experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of wildlife will be absolutely delighted with our trips. Three and four-hour excursions, as well as other more extensive trips, are available. Join us for up close and personal whale watching and bird watching. On our four-hour trips we routinely visit Saint Lazaria Island National Wildlife Refuge, the "center of the universe”, in my mind! Here we immerse ourselves amongst incredible congregations of seabirds, as well as birds of prey, colorful inter-tidal organisms and marine mammals all in the setting of a dramatic volcanic island, steadfast, at the edge of the wide pacific and in the shadow of majestic Mount Edgecumbe. For those who love the natural world, especially bird watching, Saint Lazaria Island, with its surrounds, is a pinnacle of perfection!

Lighthouse Totems & Eagles Excursion
Join our Alaskan captain and their crew at our dock in Ward Cove – which was once home to North America’s largest operating pulp mill and a working salmon cannery – to board either the Lighthouse Endeavor or Totem Princess. Once aboard, you’ll get to settle into the inside heated main cabin or a seat on the outside observation deck, as you leave the dock for your cruise. Sip a hot chocolate or freshly-brewed coffee and keep your eye out for plentiful American bald eagle sightings. Your captain will navigate the vessel along our developed shoreline while our crew helps you spot the many eagle’s nests along our route. You’ll arrive in front of Totem Bight State Park, home to an Alaskan native clan house and 14 towering Tlingit and Haida hand-carved cedar totem poles, where you will learn about Ketchikan’s vibrant Alaska Native culture as well as the history of the park. We’ll provide you with beautiful, panoramic views of the entire park from the water, and an opportunity to get your photo taken with this stunning site. About halfway through the trip, you’ll leave the developed shoreline to head out to Guard Island Lighthouse, perched on its own island near the opening to Clarence Strait. (This fascinating landmark was established in 1904 and is still in operation today!) While here, take a minute to breathe in the fresh sea air and keep your eye out for the possibility of some of our favorite marine mammals – seals, sea lions, and, in May and September, sometimes even humpback and orca whales! You also may get a chance to see any number of seabirds, such as great blue heron, pigeon guillemots, or gulls. On your way back to Ward Cove, your captain will bring your tour vessel along the neighboring island of Gravina, showcasing beautiful views of the old growth Tongass National Forest, our world’s largest temperate rainforest, and give you the opportunity to possibly spot some land-based wildlife, such as Sitka Blacktail deer or – if you’re really lucky! – a black bear.
