About us
Currently, Davey is working towards a master’s degree in mental health counseling. He plans to "infuse the healing nature of nature!” into his professional practice. He loves to subsistence hunt, fish, gather and garden. He has SCUBA dived extensively in Southeast Alaska and kayaked thousands of miles along the north Pacific coast. Natural history and boating are not only his professions, but they are also his passions.
Davey lives happily on the shore of beautiful Sitka with his wife (executive director of Sitka Sound Science Center), two daughters, and ocean-going poodle.
What we'll do
Join us for a private full-day exploration of this globally-recognized treasure on our Sitka Sound ocean adventures. This unique opportunity will bring you and your family into the wild waterfront of the Tongass National Forest. As we glide upon the seas, stroll along the beaches and inhale the cool freshness of the old-growth forest, your expert captain-naturalist-guide will share with you the wonders of this wild paradise. Let down your hair and experience the Alaska that few ever do and many never dreamed possible!
You will depart from Sitka aboard our safe and comfortable custom-built vessel; the entire journey will be the destination. While traveling through wildlife-rich waters, your captain will choose a remote beach upon which to bring you ashore. Here, you’ll explore the beaches and forest, the flora, fauna and ecology with your biologist / guide.
This adventure is available only for private parties, of one to six participants. A reasonable level of fitness and flexibility is necessary. Rain-gear, sturdy clothing and a strong sense of adventure are required.
Food, beverages and the use of quality rubber boots are included with this tour.
