About us

Skagway Tours is a local Alaskan company owned and operated by Alaskans. We love where we live and most of all, we like showing it off. We work hard, we laugh a lot, we brainstorm nonstop, and we give the best high-fives in town.

We look forward to spending time with you and showing you our beautiful home of Skagway!

What we'll do

Spend time playing with Alaska husky puppies on this tour!

Follow in the footsteps of the 1898 Gold Rush stampeders up the White Pass and into the Yukon! Start your adventure by traveling up the Klondike Highway while you take in wildlife, waterfalls, glacier-covered mountains & views of the White Pass Railroad. Once into Canada (Province of British Columbia aka B.C.) you'll pass through the subarctic alpine tundra of the Tormented Valley, with views of Summit Lake. You'll continue through B.C. where you'll stop at Canada Customs (passports and vaccines cards are required) at Fraser B.C, and the Yukon Territory. Photo opportunities will be available at the British Columbia and Yukon signs.

Our featured stop is the Tutshi Dog Sledding Camp. Here, you'll get a glimpse into the history of sled dog use throughout Canada and Alaska. You'll get to see the dogs in action and play with puppies. You'll also get to meet real life trainers & mushers! There is a gift shop for snacks and souvenirs to take home as a way to remember this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

For the puppy / sled dog portion of the trip:

Visit Tagish Lake Kennel with Yukon Quest and Iditarod musher Michelle Phillips / Ed Hopkins where you will have the chance to participate in the following:

-Tour an authentic mushers summer camp—and take a sled dog cart ride on our scenic alpine trail. Join veteran Iditarod and Yukon Quest mushers Michelle Phillips and Ed Hopkins and their friendly, loyal and well-cared-for Alaskan Huskies at their breathtaking summer mushing camp. Meet our super-friendly canine athletes. Learn all about life as a long distance musher. Check out all the gear and stand on the runners of a racing sled. Hear some tales from the trail. Cuddle with our newest athletes: the puppies!

-($45 per adult, $40 per kid aged 5 - 12, $0 per kid aged 0 - 4) Experience everything as above, but a 20 minute sled dog trek with the dogs is included! Each trek can take up to 6 at a time while you take the dogs on a fun-filled work out, guided by a musher or trainer. For groups over 15, we will divide the group into different activities at the sled dog camp to ensure everyone has ample time to experience the sled dog trek, puppies, and educational talk.

-($15 per person) - Experience authentic gold panning in the Yukon while at the Tutshi Sled Dog Camp! This option is perfect for groups of 30 or more to ensure everyone has time to play with the puppies & do the dog sled trek. This option will add 30 minutes of time to the tour.
