Yukon Sled Dog & Panning For Gold Adventure

Offered by Klondike Tours  In Skagway, Alaska

About us

Klondike Tours is a locally owned and operated tour company that has been in operation since 1992 in Skagway, Alaska. We are the only Year-Round Tour Company in Skagway.

Our owners Greg and Billi Jo Clem came to Skagway in 1995 where they met for the first time. Billi worked for the Red Onion as their head Madame and Greg went to work with Klondike Tours as a guide. They bought the company in 1998 and got married on September 22, 2000. They have been blessed with their son Dawson Clem as well as 2 retail stores in Skagway: Klondike Curios, with made-in Alaska gifts, and Alaskan Fairytales, children’s clothing, and playthings. You can find them at 3rd and Broadway.

What we'll do

Board our 15 to 25 passenger mini-coach to explore the White Pass elevation 3,292 feet all the way to the Yukon.

With stops to get out and see amazing waterfalls up to 3,000 feet tall, glaciers, alpine valleys, snow-capped mountains, and huge mountain lakes. Your guide will tell you gold rush stories, lots of history, and information about the plants and animals in this wild and beautiful land. This is your best chance for wildlife viewing in Skagway.

We’ll see the White Pass Trail of ‘98, the Fantail Trail, and Summit & Fraser Lakes before passing back into the boreal forest for Lakes Tutshi and Tagish.

Enjoy lunch at Caribou Crossing (included) and the amazingly beautiful Emerald Lake.

The sled dog adventure takes place in a remote portion of Canada. Play with the puppies while learning what a mushers life is all about.  On this 20 minute/1.3 mile ride you will be amazed by the dogs' power, grace, and love for running as you fly up and down through this alpine wilderness.

Enjoy the experience of panning for REAL gold and the thrill of finding those little shiny gold pieces.
