The crowning point of the tour is Juneau's natural treasure, the Mendenhall Glacier. One of 38 glaciers flowing from the massive 1,500-square-mile Juneau Ice field. At this stop, you have TWO HOURS to explore this glacial wonder from a variety of perspectives like Nugget Creek Falls and Photo Point Trail, which winds along Mendenhall Lake to an unobstructed view of the glacier's face. There you can also visit the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center for an elevated view of the glacier as well as interactive geological exhibits explaining glacier formation. *Itinerary: - Meet us at the convenient, central pick-up location in front of the Mt. White Pass Summit & City Tour
The narrated drive up the gorgeous Klondike Highway parallels much of the Gold Rush Trail of 1898 where stampeders struggled to climb carrying their ton of goods during winter snows. Along the route are spectacular vistas of steep mountains of coastal rainforest and historical stops, including Brackett Wagon Road, Pitchfork Falls, Moore Creek Bridge, and views of the WP&YR railroad. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and watch for wildlife. Upon cresting the White Pass Summit (3292 feet, 1003 meters), take in views of the sub-arctic alpine tundra of the "Tormented” Valley, with its crystal blue Summit Lake and snowcapped mountains. At the US/Canadian border, have a photo opportunity with the Welcome to Alaska sign! Our return trip takes us the Skagway Scenic Overlook, which offers a panoramic view of the entire town, harbor and cruise ships. The Great Alaskan Earthquake Tour
The Great Alaskan Earthquake Tour program starts with a short movie that literally gives you the history and taste of the Great Alaskan Earthquake that happen in 1964. After orientation and training you are off on the coastal trail to Earthquake Park. Along the way there will be stops to take pictures, view the inlet and Sleeping Lady Mountain. Next to Earthquake Park is Point Warzonof which has the highest concentration of Moose in the City of Anchorage. On the way back, there will be a stop at the Snack Shack at West Winchester Lagoon. From there it is homeward bound, maybe a stop to see Star, if she is agreeable, the second most famous reindeer in Alaska next to Rudolph.

Guests are asked to arrive a few minutes early for check-in and to ensure a timely departure. We'll make our way north to the Totem Bight Historical Park, located on the former site of a traditional Native campground known as Mud Bight Village. See the Clan House and Totem Poles and hear stories of a legendary chief's strength, along with other totem stories and meanings. Next, we'll ride in the van, venturing out to the Rainforest Creek Trail. Here visitors will be immersed in and will learn about the unique ecosystem of the Tongass. From how to safely remove the thorns and bark from the devil's club, to identifying many other berries edibles, and medicinal plants of the Tongass, we provide an insightful and fascinating perspective like none other. At the end of the tour, we'll provide snacks including smoked salmon and crackers by a campfire. In June and July, you might be able to view Chinook salmon swimming upstream to spawn in the world’s only urban King salmon fishery. Here, we will walk to the bronze Arctic art installation honoring Grandma Olga Ezi, a Dena’ina First People matriarch who settled the Alaska Native village of Eklutna to the east. From Ship Creek, we will travel to the west end of Anchorage through Bootleggers Cove, stopping for a walk in Earthquake Park where in 1964, a 9.2 earthquake shook the city for almost five minutes and caused an upheaval of the silty shoreline and bluffs of town; the second-most powerful earthquake ever recorded. From the park, your guide will take a drive around Lake Hood, home to the world’s busiest seaplane airport and base. Finally, the tour van winds its way up the Hillside neighborhood of Anchorage toward a scenic overlook within the Chugach State Park system, our final stop. Weather permitting, guests have the opportunity to take panoramic photos of Anchorage, surrounding mountain ranges, and stunning Cook Inlet. While we can’t guarantee wildlife viewing during this tour through the City of Flowers & Lights, we are known for our big wildlife and it is not uncommon to see an occasional moose or bald eagle.
