Yukon Sled Dog & Panning For Gold Adventure
Board our 15 to 25 passenger mini-coach to explore the White Pass elevation 3,292 feet all the way to the Yukon. With stops to get out and see amazing waterfalls up to 3,000 feet tall, glaciers, alpine valleys, snow-capped mountains, and huge mountain lakes. Your guide will tell you gold rush stories, lots of history, and information about the plants and animals in this wild and beautiful land. This is your best chance for wildlife viewing in Skagway. We’ll see the White Pass Trail of ‘98, the Fantail Trail, and Summit & Fraser Lakes before passing back into the boreal forest for Lakes Tutshi and Tagish. Juneau Sled Dog Discovery & Musher's Camp
Your journey will begin with a 25-minute narrated drive over to Douglas Island. Upon arriving up at dog camp, you will be greeted with overwhelming excitement from our teams of dogs that can’t wait to take you on the ride of your life. You will then hop aboard our custom-designed wheeled summer sleds that sit 6 people, with the musher steering the team from the back. Relax and enjoy watching the 16 dogs in front of you run with their hearts and souls to give you an authentic dog sledding experience. Halfway through your ride, the musher will stop to snap some photos of you with the dog team in front, as well as to give these dogs a break---anything above 0 degrees is a warm summer day for them! Get your list of questions ready, because, after the ride, your group will proceed to the covered wooden area for the Musher Presentation where you will learn all there is to know about this sport and the mushing lifestyle from a real musher and a retired sled dog. If you haven’t gotten enough pictures up at our scenic camp yet, venture on over to our hanging bridge that overlooks Fish Creek and is surrounded by gorgeous Spruce and Hemlock trees. Enjoy bouncing on the bridge but remember to save some energy for puppy time! That’s right---we almost always have at least a couple of litters of pups up at camp ready to be loved on. In fact, it is very important for future racing success that they have ample human socialization, so you cuddling up with these adorable husky pups is actually helpful---thank you! Skagway Gold Panning Experience
We are excited to offer a new gold panning experience right in downtown Skagway! Come on down to Klondike Tours Gifts at 351 Broadway and get your arms moving to shake the gold loose. Everyone gets a choice of a Cheechaco pan where everyone finds gold or a Sourdough pan with pay dirt where you have a chance to strike it rich or go broke the way true Alaskan miners did it. The adventure takes 20 to 30 minutes and can be done any time of the day from 9 am to 5 pm seven days a week. Being in the center of the shopping district, it is easy to fit in around a busy schedule. We will weigh your gold for you. After having your new riches weighed for you have them put into a bezel and made into a necklace or keychain for a great souvenir from Alaska. Your journey begins with an entertaining historic tour from your knowledgeable guide through downtown Skagway and along nine miles of stunning coastline to our Musher’s Camp™ in Dyea. Next, hop into our specialized Unimog for an exciting ride up our rugged mountain road, surrounded by glacially-fed streams and waterfalls. At the top, your musher will greet you with a custom-designed wheeled summertime sled and a team of very excited Alaskan Huskies! Feel the power of these strong dogs as they whisk you around a mile-long trail deep in the Tongass National Rainforest! Grizzly Falls Ziplining Expedition
Come take an adrenaline-filled tour of Alaska! After the scenic bus ride up to Dyea, you will board our giant 4x4 military vehicle for an exciting ride up the mountain to our zipline camp. You will then meet your skilled guide who will suit you up in safety gear and prepare you to fly through the forest. Get ready to soar like an eagle through our epic course of 10 ziplines and 4 suspension bridges with breathtaking scenery abounding! Hop back on the bus for a calm ride back to town. It all begins at your cruise dock where you meet your guide. From there, enjoy an entertaining and historic tour through downtown Skagway then drive along nine miles of stunning coastline. When you arrive at our base in Dyea, you will transfer into our customized Unimog—an all-wheel drive vehicle necessary for getting up our rugged mountain road. At the top of the mountain, you will divide into groups of 8 and suit up in gear that meets the highest standards of safety while your highly trained guide tells you what to expect and how to safely navigate the course. You will then be led to the take-off zone, where you’ll clip in and fly away! You’ll soar through our exhilarating course of 8-10 zip lines; the longest measuring 750ft—that’s longer than 2 football fields combined! Turning Heads Kennel Tour & Dog Sled Ride
Our ride and kennel tour is a one-of-a-kind experience. The best part? Our tours are intentionally kept small because dog sledding is all about the bond a musher has with their dogs and we want to show that to you. Because of that, Travis and Sarah, the owners give over 95% of the tours themselves. After all, they know their dogs best! Both Travis and Sarah have run the 1,000 mile Iditarod and those working with them often aspire to compete in it too. Small tours also mean that you will have plenty of time to ask questions, meet the dogs, and snuggle our husky puppies. First, get ready for our tour. You don’t really need any special clothing, but make sure you are comfortable. We recommend closed-toed shoes in the dog lot. Sled dogs can be playful. Guests that want the full kennel experience are advised to wear a rain jacket or another piece of clothing they don’t mind getting dirty — but don’t worry, this isn’t mandatory and if you show up in your Sunday Best our dogs will be sure to mind their manners. In the event it is raining, most of our tour is covered to keep you dry. We will still go out if it rains because this is our dogs' favorite weather: the cooler temperatures allow them to perform better and longer. If you are feeling the Alaskan chill, we have a nice warm fire to keep you nice and toasty. If it is exceptionally hot out we may also do things differently to accommodate the needs of our dogs. Depending on how hot it is, we may have to stop more frequently or shorten your dog sledding experience because everything we do is about our dogs and their well-being. At our kennel, you’ll be greeted by a plethora of wagging tails from our retirees who now hold the official title of “kennel greeters.” Give our loving older dogs a quick pat on the head, if you like, before checking in to our tour. While you wait for the tour to begin, check out some of our racing memorabilia and photographs hanging on the walls or take a group photo in front of our kennel sign. Then, it’s time to start! When you meet Travis or Sarah, or perhaps one of their helpers, you will be swept up in their passion for their dogs. Before you head into the dog yard, you’ll be given a quick overview of our dog lot rules and how to interact with our dogs. Our dogs are all very friendly but to ensure a positive experience for both our guests and our dogs, we always teach our visitors how to interact with our dogs. Under the supervision of one of our guides, we invite you to pet and play with our dogs — though you certainly don’t have to. Take pictures of our sled dogs and their colorful houses. Then, it’s time to sing! Everyone loves a good husky howl and what better way to bond than by leading the canine choir in a big howl! After our beautiful song together, it’s time to learn about mushing. Hear tales from the trail as you learn about the gear both mushers and dogs need to excel on a 1,000-mile dog race. Learn how we deal with things like open water at -40 and the rigorous routine we go through to take excellent care of our dogs while we are racing and training. We conclude our kennel tour by meeting the youngest members of the pack: our puppies. Steal kisses and cuddles from puppies from as young as 2 days old to up to 10 weeks old. Our puppies' hilarious personalities and antics will have you laughing. Trust us, you won’t want to say goodbye to these guys! After getting your fill of kisses, it’s time to mush! We have a custom-built cart that we hook our dogs up to so we can run on the dirt. A lot of people think dog sledding is only done in the winter, but a majority of our training actually happens before the snow falls on carts, like the one we will go out on, and ATVs. If you are interested in mushing on snow, please check out our glacier dog sledding ride or visit us for a winter tour. Once you are seated on our cart, we will start hooking the team-up. In their excitement, our dogs jump and bark. This is a great time to get some action shots, so while you watch us hook up the team pulls out the camera. People never believe how high our dogs can jump and it’s a great memory to have on camera! See first hand the love and joy that running brings these amazing athletes. Once the last pair of dogs are hooked up, it’s time to take off. The team instantly quiets as we set off on our training session. The commands start just a few moments into the run. Watch in amazement as our leaders respond with precision timing. At least, that’s what we hope! We often use this tour to train new lead dogs so sometimes things don’t always go according to plan. As exciting as it is to watch the dogs get it right, it is equally enthralling to watch as we work with new lead dogs and the light bulb clicks. No other dog sled tour offers this unique behind-the-scenes opportunity to watch actual training occur. We think it’s pretty special and we know you will too! The ride will go all too quickly and when it ends, we guarantee that you will be impressed with our dogs' athleticism and their intelligence. Back in the yard, we get water for the dogs and give them a scratch on the head to say thanks. Pose with our lead dogs for the day as a great souvenir postcard before saying goodbye. We’ll tell you ways to continue your involvement with our dogs if you find yourself enraptured with the sport of dog mushing and want to follow along on our training and racing journey. We kindly ask that you do not bring treats for our dogs. We appreciate the warm thoughts and well wishes but our sled dogs are the canine equivalent of Olympic athletes and have a highly tailored nutrition program. Unfortunately, our dogs turn to tend to turn their nose up at anything except the kibble we feed and, of course, meat. Ocean Raft Wildlife Adventure
Join us on our adventure boat ride through the Lynn Canal where we hug the shoreline while exploring hidden coves, waterfalls, rocky beaches, wildlife, and MORE! On this fun-filled, two-hour adventure your captain will make multiple stops for photo opportunities and wildlife sightings. Occasionally, they will turn the engines off to give you the ability to take in the sights and sounds that make up our home here in the wilderness of Southeast Alaska. This intimate thrill ride is designed to get you edging between mountain and ocean in our custom-built ribs. Climb aboard a raft styled identically to the boats that the US Coast Guard and Navy Seals use for search and rescue. With its deep hull, surrounded by inflatable tubes, our boats are designed to deliver a comfortable ride in any ocean condition. You will straddle our custom-made, shock-absorbing seats as we race by the steep granite walls of the only Fjord in North America.
Glacier Point Wilderness Safari
This wilderness expedition to the spectacular Davidson Glacier immerses you in the abundant natural beauty of Alaska, leading you through fjords, rain forests, vibrant wildflowers, and towering mountains. Kick off the tour with a sublime cruise down the Lynn Canal, followed by a mellow hike to your canoe that will bring you face-to-face with the stunning Davidson Glacier. Wrap up the adventure with a picnic lunch on the beach before the return cruise back to town. On this spellbinding wilderness expedition, you will travel through fjords and rainforests viewing some of the most spectacular Alaskan scenery in Southeast. You’ll see everything from wildflowers to towering mountains and top off the experience with up-close views of the Davidson Glacier. Your adventure begins aboard one of our boats custom-designed to provide an intimate viewing experience. During your 75-minute journey through North America’s deepest fjord, keep a lookout for whales, seals, and cascading waterfalls while your Naturalist guide tells you more about the area you are traveling through. Upon arrival at the remote Glacier Point beach, you will take a short, adventurous drive in a school bus across the forested glacial moraines to our base camp where you will gear up in rubber boots and a life jacket. After a ¼ mile walk, the forest opens to reveal a breathtaking view of the Davidson Glacier and the pristine lake below. Here you will board a 31-foot voyager canoe for a trip around the lake to view the glacier and enjoy the incredible Alaskan wilderness while your guide shares their extensive knowledge of the area. Conditions permitting, you’ll make a stop on the delta to get up close and personal with the glacier. This is an optional 1/2 to 1-mile hike over a sand and pebble beach. After the walk on the delta, hop back in the canoe to begin your return trip. After arriving back at the base camp, enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach before your cruise back to town on the custom-designed wildlife-viewing boat. Takshanuk ATV Tour from Haines
When you arrive at the trail head your knowledgeable guide will instruct your family’s driver on how to operate the Kawasaki Mules. Don’t want to drive? No problem! We can accommodate those who want to ride along and enjoy the views! The mules are equipped with convertible tops for those traditional Southeast Alaska days and your guide can provide you with blankets, gloves and rain ponchos if necessary. Start your journey up the trail and enjoy the lush forest and scenic views peeking through the trees. The first mile of trail has 17 switchbacks and gains the most elevation, starting at sea level and taking you to 1,100 feet in elevation for your first stop at our exclusive mountain lodge. Here you’ll take in the breathtaking views of the beautiful Lynn Canal and Coastal mountain range. You’ll also be treated to fresh baked cookies straight out of the oven along with coffee, hot chocolate, tea and lemonade. After the lodge you’ll continue on the trail for another scenic mile, passing cascading waterfalls and crossing crystal clear mountain streams. Your guide will make a stop at a scenic alpine lake to take in the views and scan the mountain side for wildlife. The natural lake is fed by cascading waterfalls down the backside of Mt. Ripinsky. When the season is right you can pick wild Alaskan blueberries and salmon berries that are abundant in this area. As you continue to the end of the trail at 1,500 feet, be prepared to catch your breath for the stunning vista of Chilkoot Lake and the Lutak inlet. A gorgeous alpine meadow awaits those who wish to take a short hike up the hillside to enjoy the wildflowers that soak up the sunshine at this higher elevation. The return portion of your tour will take you back to our exclusive lodge where you will be served a deliciously prepared beer-battered halibut and roasted chicken meal. Vegetarian meals and special dietary requests are available with a 24-hour notice. After this fantastic homemade meal and time to relax in the lodge, you will make your way back to the trail head. For those who took the Takshanuk Trail bus to the trail head, your return trip to town will include a scenic tour of Haines and Fort William H. Seward, the first permanent army base in Alaska.
Glacial Fjord Bicycle Tour
We depart town by van and head to our starting point along the Lutak Inlet. As you pedal along the flat, paved road carved into the steep-walled fjord, you might spot bald eagles, salmon, whales, sea lions, seals, and even bears. We ride to the end of the inlet where the Chilkoot River joins the ocean and salmon congregate for their ancient quest to reach the spawning grounds. We continue riding along the river to Chilkoot Lake, a 3-mile long lake surrounded by glaciated mountain peaks. Take in the gorgeous views across the emerald lake, surrounded by glaciers, waterfalls, and jagged mountain peaks. This is a wonderful way to combine fresh Alaskan air and mild exercise in beautiful Haines, Alaska. E-Bikes are available for this tour. Guests may choose to use a Trek Verve+ 2 pedal-assist bike for this ride.
Chilkoot Canoe Wildlife Safari Tour (Skagway Departure)
After meeting your tour representative in Skagway, you'll board a high speed catamaran for a 45 minute boat ride to the town of Haines. Upon arrival into Haines, we'll take a short tour of Fort Seward, a 30 minute drive from downtown Haines and then head up the Lutak Inlet to the Chilkoot River Valley. The Chilkoot corridor offers incredible wildlife viewing. Brown Bears, eagles, mountain goats, and spawning salmon are commons sights. Our guides are expert naturalists and enjoy sharing their love and knowledge of the Alaskan wilderness. Once at the Lake, we’ll head out onto Chilkoot Lake in stable motor assisted Voyageur Canoes. Our Canoes are built using similar dimensions as the canoes used by trappers and gold miners at the turn of the century. Powered by either paddle or motor, this tour offers guests the opportunity to paddle in the serenity of Chilkoot Lake, while also having the advantage of relaxing and taking photographs when it’s time to take a break from paddling. We’ll be out on the water for about 2 hours and explore the inlets, coves, salmon spawning streams and numerous waterfalls that spill off of the mountains into the lake. After enjoying the beautiful views on the lake, we’ll return to Haines and serve a picnic-style lunch at a private ocean beach location. Following lunch, we'll load up back onto the fast ferry for the return trip to Skagway. * Timings: (~75 minutes) Your friendly dock representative will meet you near the Skagway Small Boat harbor sign and restrooms. We will provide answers to any questions that you might have about your upcoming excursion and get you ready to board the ferry to Haines. We’ll help you board the comfortable ferry for the 50-minute narrated, scenic journey to Haines. (~60 minutes) Upon arrival in Haines, restrooms will be available and you’ll meet your guide and driver. From here we’ll depart for an interpretive drive through historic Fort Seward and continue to Chilkoot Lake. Along the way, we’ll drive along the shoreline of the Lynn Fjord and the wildlife-rich Chilkoot River. (~15 minutes) When we arrive at Chilkoot Lake you’ll have the opportunity to meet your other guides and take in the stunning views of the pristine lake. Your guides will help you get fit with a PFD (life jacket), rubber boots and canoe paddle. You’ll then receive a thorough safety briefing and orientation before boarding the 31’ long voyageur canoe for your adventure. (~90 minutes) – We’ll spend the next hour and a half experiencing Chilkoot Lake while our stable voyageur canoes. It is an excellent way to take in the fantastic views by water and if the wind picks up or you’re ready to relax, we will use the quiet 4-stroke motor to move around. (~15 minutes) – Once back at the put-in we’ll trade your rubber boots and PFD’s back in for your shoes and you’ll have time to enjoy our private deck and spotting scopes to take in the views of the lake and surrounding mountains and waterfalls one more time. (~40 minutes) We’ll then board our transportation and head down to the ocean for lunch. (~30 minutes) At our private ocean side picnic area, you’ll enjoy a picnic-style lunch provides great views of the Lynn Fjord in a private setting. (~50 minutes) Once we wrap up with lunch we’ll head over to the ferry dock where you’ll have the opportunity to use the restrooms and take additional photos of Haines before enjoying the scenic ride back up the fjord to Skagway. (~15 minutes) Upon returning to Skagway, a short walk will bring you back to our original meeting point, just a few minutes walk or shuttle to downtown Skagway and all three cruise ship docks.
Rainforest Bicycle Tour
During the Gold Rush, Dyea was Skagway’s rival city, booming with 10,000 people. Now nature has reclaimed the land, leaving only ghosts of its Gold Rush past. This scenic tour starts with an informative van tour along the spectacular coastal inlets to the west of Skagway. Your professional guides tell you stories of the rush of 98’ and inform you about the ecology of this rich area. After a bicycle and safety orientation, your guide leads your small group on a bike route that covers five miles of flat terrain for easy pedaling. You ride through the lush rainforest, visit historic ruins, see the Chilkoot trailhead, and venture out to the coastal tidal flats where eagles, salmon, colorful wildflowers, and dazzling mountains are often in view. Do not be surprised if you spot a bear! Leave the crowds behind, get some mild exercise, and take in the natural wonders of Alaska on a bicycle!
Wilderness Kayak Adventure Tour (Skagway Departure)
This spectacular kayaking tour immerses you in the incredible beauty of wild Alaska! You will have the opportunity to see amazing blue glaciers, breathtaking waterfalls, and extraordinary wildlife and fauna! Join professional kayak guides for an exciting paddling adventure on the gorgeous Chilkoot Lake. This is a fantastic paddling excursion for all abilities and no experience is necessary. Your tour begins as you board a high-speed catamaran for a scenic 45-minute cruise along North America’s longest and deepest fjord to Haines. Along the way, you’ll witness spectacular views of waterfalls and ice-sculpted peaks as your guide points out marine wildlife. Upon arrival in Haines, you will board a motorcoach that will take you on a beautiful 40 minute drive to Chilkoot Lake. Once you have arrived at the water you will receive a brief safety orientation, be outfitted with flotation vest and rubber boots, and get familiarized with your sea kayak. At least the next 1.5 hours will be spent enjoying the breath-taking scenery that Alaska is famous for! While on the water, you will be surrounded with towering mountains, glaciers, rivers, and fabulous wildlife. There are frequent sightings of whales, otters, eagles, bears, and more. There will be plenty of time to enjoy the incredible scenery, take pictures of the astounding wildlife and enjoy a picnic style lunch! This is a great family experience and kids are welcome. Don’t forget to bring your camera! Your guides will help you get fit with a PFD (life jacket), spray skirt and paddle. You’ll then receive a thorough safety briefing and become familiar with your kayak and equipment before boarding your stable 3-person fiberglass kayak. (~90 minutes) – We will then take off on a paddle exploration of Chilkoot Lake. Chilkoot Lake is surrounded by mountains and numerous waterfalls. Salmon also end their journey from the ocean here to spawn on the sandy bottom in late-summer. The lake is well-sheltered from the wind and makes for excellent kayaking regardless of the weather conditions. (~50 minutes) – once we’ve paddled back to our dock you’ll have some free time to use the spotting scopes on our private deck to take in the views from a different perspective. We’ll then board our transportation and head down to the ocean for lunch. (~30 minutes) – At our private ocean side picnic area, where you’ll enjoy a picnic-style lunch provides great views of the Lynn Fjord in a private setting. Haines Chilkat E-Bike Adventure
Visit the Mud Flats of the glacially fed Chilkat Valley on this 7-mile E-bike ride. We depart the bike shop and ride up the hill into the historic Fort Seward. After exploring and discussing this recent history, we ride down to the mud flats of the Chilkat Valley. Here you can enjoy a walk to along the shore and experience the serenity of the glacial valley breeze. You may witness bald eagles, coastal brown bears and even marine mammals fishing for salmon. We ride back to town through a rainforest neighborhood where locals have built their own unique homesteads. Before heading back to the shop, we’ll stop at a view point across the harbor where you can see the town and the Cathedral Mountains towering above.

Wilderness Run: Oar Raft
A great trip for families! Hold on and enjoy your introduction to rafting in Alaska. You may see moose, sheep, caribou, and bear, as you raft downstream 11 miles. The most scenic portion of the Nenana River gives you thrilling, and enjoyable rafting. You have your choice of Oar Rafts or Paddle Rafts (It takes 5 participants to paddle, when possible we combine parties to reach five or more). Both oar rafts and paddle rafts run the same rapids on the river. Perfect for 1st timers, an oar raft, is rowed by the guide while rafters sit, hold on, and enjoy the view. In a paddle raft, you will be expected to follow instructions and be an active participant by paddling the raft down the river. You still have a guide but everyone has a paddle and the guide instructs you on how and when to paddle. Our Shuttle Service provides the pickup from local lodging, plus transportation to and from the river.
