Description

Enjoy this beautiful jade fish hook necklace, a remembrance of your Alaskan visit.

The hei matau fish hook shape first finds its origins in Māori legend, which holds that the North Island of New Zealand was once a huge fish that was caught and pulled out of the water.

Today, wearing a hei matau fish hook is said to symbolize a connection to the sea, granting strength, good luck and safe travels over water.

As you visit our Alaskan waters, remember Alaska's sea-faring and fishing legacy with this beautiful fish hook reminder of your time on or near our oceans.

Jade is Alaska's official state gem. Alaska has large deposits of this gemstone, including an entire mountain of jade on the Seward Peninsula. With its beauty and wide-ranging expressiveness, jade has held a special attraction for mankind for thousands of years. Since ancient times jade has been a gift to wish good health.

Take a piece of Alaska home with this stunning jade necklace!
