About us
Marathon Helicopters, nestled at the Seward Airport in the heart of scenic Seward, Alaska, has been soaring the skies since April 2016. Our chosen name pays homage to the iconic Mt. Marathon, a prominent figure overlooking our town and home to the revered Mt. Marathon Race, the second oldest foot race in the United States, held every July 4th.
Meet Mike Culver, our seasoned pilot and proud owner, with a decade of flying experience in the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska. Mike's aviation journey began in 2006 amidst the sun-soaked Arizona desert, where 330 days of sunshine set the stage for his passion for flying. From instructing aviation students in South Korea to exploring the sunny skies of South Carolina, Mike found his home in the captivating landscapes of Alaska.
Marathon Helicopters operates the R44 helicopter, ensuring each of our guests enjoys a window seat for the best flying experience possible. Our office, a converted 40-foot shipping container, is a testament to our commitment to providing a unique and comfortable environment. With front and back porches, a 40-foot rooftop deck, and large windows offering incredible visibility and natural sunlight, our space reflects the beauty of the landscapes we explore.
Authorized by the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) under FAR Part 135 for air charters and FAR Part 133 for external load operations, Marathon Helicopters guarantees a safe and exhilarating journey through the Alaskan skies.

290 lbs. is the weight limit for any one passenger. The weight limit for all 3 passengers cannot exceed 600 lbs.
