What We Will Do

This 1-hour tour covers a large wilderness area in and around Kenai Fjords National Park. We will see a variety of tidewater, valley, and hanging glaciers wile exploring the Harding Icefield.

There is an excellent chance we will see goats, moose, and possible bear during the flight. Enormous river valleys, icebergs, waterfall, old goldmine claims, and snow-covered mountain peaks are all in the 1 hour experience.

What To Expect

*Duration: 45-minute tour in our four person helicopter. Everyone gets a window seat!

* FAQs:

- How many passengers can fly at one time?

Up to three passengers can fly at the same time. For parties of four or more, multiple trips can be made. If there is an open seat, we may fill it with another guest.

- Do your helicopters have weight limits?

290 lbs. is the weight limit for any one passenger. The weight limit for all 3 passengers cannot exceed 600 lbs.

- What type of helicopters do you fly?

We fly Robinson R44 helicopters. There are a total of 3 passenger seats which is great because that gives everyone a window seat!

- What time should I book my flight?

We recommend booking in the morning if possible. That way if there is a weather delay we may be able to move your flight to a more suitable time in the afternoon.

Is there an age limit for passengers?

- There is no age limit, but passengers under 24 months old must ride on an adult's lap free of charge.

Can I use my camera?

Yes! Please bring your camera, GoPro, or other recording device!

- What is your safety record?

We take pride in our perfect safety record and implement every measure to maintain it.

- What are your hours of operation?

We are open from mid-May until late September. 9 am – 6 pm, 7 days a week.

- What should we wear?

Dress for comfort and the current climate. We suggest bringing sunglasses as well.

- Will I get motion sickness?

This is a professional scenic tour, not a thrill ride, so you should not experience any discomfort. Our flights are very smooth, and turns are slow and gentle.

- Do I need a reservation?

It is highly recommended you make a reservation. During the peak summer months, we book up early.

So please make your reservation early to ensure a flight that fits with your schedule. Single riders please call us directly to see if we can put you on an open seat.

- Do you ever have delays to your flights?

If we are experiencing inclement weather, delays are possible.

- What happens if I buy a tour and my flight is canceled due to weather?

Our staff will do our best to reschedule your tour for another date and time. If we cannot find an agreed-upon date and time for your tour, we will refund you in full.

- Can people with physical challenges take a flight?

Yes, of course. We are proud to take the necessary time to assist anyone who has the desire to fly with achieving their dream.

- What certifications do you have with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)?

Marathon, a prominent figure overlooking our town and home to the revered Mt. Marathon Race, the second oldest foot race in the United States, held every July 4th.

Meet Mike Culver, our seasoned pilot and proud owner, with a decade of flying experience in the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska. Mike's aviation journey began in 2006 amidst the sun-soaked Arizona desert, where 330 days of sunshine set the stage for his passion for flying. From instructing aviation students in South Korea to exploring the sunny skies of South Carolina, Mike found his home in the captivating landscapes of Alaska.

Marathon Helicopters operates the R44 helicopter, ensuring each of our guests enjoys a window seat for the best flying experience possible. Our office, a converted 40-foot shipping container, is a testament to our commitment to providing a unique and comfortable environment. With front and back porches, a 40-foot rooftop deck, and large windows offering incredible visibility and natural sunlight, our space reflects the beauty of the landscapes we explore.

Our most popular tour begins south over Resurrection Bay’s coast where you may see a variety of Alaskan Sea Life. We will explore valleys filled with enormous waterfalls and search for bears & goats. Entering Bear Glacier Lagoon you will view hundreds of icebergs from your seat prior to heading up the Harding Icefield. We will continue behind the Kenai Mountains into Paradise Valley and travel past Exit Glacier on our way back to town.

Bridal Veil Falls Extended Resurrection Bay Kayaking Adventure

Seward, Alaska has some of the most sought-after sea kayaking right at our doorstep! Resurrection Bay is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and is home to several Alaska state parks that offer abundant opportunities to hike, sea kayak, and explore! Looking to maximize your trip in Resurrection Bay while in Seward, Alaska? Experience magnificent Bridal Veil Falls, extend your water time, explore Tonsina Point and more! This three-quarter-day trip is also a great option if you’re trying to decide between a half-day and full-day kayaking adventure. This trip follows a similar route to our Tonsina Point trip. We launch from Lowell Point and hug the coastline to Tonsina Point before redirecting our route around Tonsina Point’s signature alluvial fan. Keep an eye out for eagles, jumping salmon, sea ducks, diving birds, porpoises, harbor seals, and sea lions. When we arrive at Bridal Veil Falls, we will take a short walk on an unmaintained trail to the base of the waterfall, explore the surrounding area, and enjoy a small snack and a hot drink. Time permitting, there may be an option to make a second landing at Tonsina Point. Enjoy a sandwich lunch and experience the magnificent surroundings, watch Salmon fight their way upstream, and explore the surrounding rainforest. From Tonsina Point or Bridal Veil Falls, we make our final paddle back to Lowell Point.

Exit Glacier Nature Hike with Guide

This 2.5 hr. hiking adventure is great for, viewing a glacier without getting on the ice, families, groups, or adventurers with limited time to experience the beauty of a glacier in Seward, Alaska. These trips are offered morning and afternoon. Masks are required for the shuttle transportation and the hiking shuttle by everyone! Federal regulations, CDC, Local and State rules and regulations apply! Drivers will take temp before boarding the shuttle and those with fever will not be permitted to board. Safety First! ​ What To Expect: This trip departs from Adventure Sixty North at the north end of Seward. We will shuttle you from and to your local B&B, local campground, and local Hotels at no cost! We will head to Exit Glacier to begin your hike with knowledgeable guides. As we drive out to the glacier, we will stop at the pull-out for a great view of Exit Glacier, a definite photo moment! Our shuttle van will also stop at the Kenai Fjords National Park welcome sign for a photo opportunity! The visitor center stop is a favorite of our guests and after that brief stop, we are all about the hike to the overlook where you will be looking down onto the toe of the Exit Glacier. ​ What to Consider: This hiking experience goes rain or shine, there can be a definite change in temperature as you get close to the glacier with breezes blowing down from the Ice Field. We recommend that you take an extra layer if you typically are cold-natured. The hiking trail is a partially black-toped trail that turns into an undeveloped hiking trail which can be slippery and challenging to people that are not used to hiking nature trails. At points, you will hike on gravel, rock and encounter a narrow beam bridge crossing small drainage. If you consider yourself unstable with walking on an undeveloped trail as described, we recommend that you not participate in this hike for your safety!

From the trailhead, spend the next 2.5 to 3 hours hiking, surrounded by views of towering, snow-capped mountains and Lynn Canal. Each group is outfitted with binoculars to maximize your opportunities to see up-close the wildlife and the spectacular mountain and river scenery. Midway through your hike you will take a beach break to enjoy a delicious smoked salmon snack and to take in the magnificent views. This is a great family experience and kids are welcome. Please note: The exact hiking location may vary with weather conditions. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Itinerary * ~10 minutes – Your friendly guides will meet you near the Port Chilkoot Cruise Ship Dock in Haines. Before departing you’ll be able to ask any questions that you might still have about your upcoming hike and you’ll have the opportunity to use the restrooms before departing. * ~15 minutes – From our meeting point we’ll take a short drive through historic Fort Seward on our way to the Kelgaya Point trailhead. * ~5 minutes - At the trailhead your guide will give you a thorough safety briefing and orientation before we hit the trail. * ~2.75 hours – We’ll hike through old growth rainforest out to the rocky beach along the Lynn Fjord. Take in the views along the hike as your expert guide shares their knowledge of the flora and fauna and unique geological history of the area. We’ll stop on the beach for rest and a locally caught smoked salmon snack. From here we’ll hike back along the trail to our starting point at the trailhead. * ~15 minutes – Back at the trailhead we’ll hop back in our van and head back to our meeting point near the Port Chilkoot dock which is a short walk from downtown Haines and many shops and restaurants.
