A Bracelet with a Story to Tell™
Alaska Dandelion Bracelet Inspiration: Dandelions grow all over Alaska. I love their little happy yellow flowers followed by their dainty white whisps in the wind.
In fact, I love dandelions so much, we call our property the Dandelion Farm!
According to gvsu.edu, distinguishing characteristics of the Alaska Dandelion, “Many yellow flowers growing in a single head at the tip of a fleshy stalk. The Alaska dandelion has smaller, more narrow leaves than the dandelions in southern Alaska and the lower 48 states. The leaves grow in a basal rosette (in a whorl at the very base of the plant) and are very ‘toothy’.”
Not only that, did you know there are two native species of dandelions in southeast Alaska?
The entire dandelion plant is also edible. We love picking the yellow flowers and making pasta, syrup, jelly, etc. The tender leaves are great in salads, and the root is said to have medicinal effects.
Are you a fan of dandelions or not? Me, you betcha!
Our Interpretation: The stalk of the dandelion is represented by Moss Agate Nugget gemstones, the white fluffy sphere is represented by bone button beads, and the stem that holds all the seeds up to make the spherical shape are represented by wavy brass spacers.
How do you like to eat dandelions?
This is a stretch bracelet to fit most wrists. Need a special size? We can customize it just for you.
