Bracelet with a story to tell™
Ketchikan Bracelet Inspiration: In case you missed it, I asked in a story not too long ago which Alaskan town you’d like us to make a bracelet for next, and Ketchikan was the winner by a country mile! Be sure you’re following our stories to get your chance to vote.
Ketchikan is a small town on the Inside Passage in Southeast Alaska, and it’s not on the road system. It’s the sixth largest city in the state.
Ketchikan is known as “The Salmon Capital of the World.” If you like to fish, Ketchikan is your spot.
You have probably seen the photo of the houses that are built on stilts on Creek Street. I think it’s one of the most popular photos of Ketchikan out there. It’s such a pretty picture, too!
Ketchikan is also famous for all the totem poles. The largest collection of Alaskan totem poles is found in Ketchikan. You can visit Saxman’s Totem Park and see well over two dozen!
Alaskan Interpretation: The Ketchikan bracelet is three strands of leather, black, red, or brown, held by a stainless steel clasp. We’ve put free-floating spacer beads on each strand of leather, to move as they want, to represent the salmon that are in the waters all around Ketchikan. Besides, it’s fun to have some movement on your bracelet, especially if it doesn’t make noise!
Please make sure to choose your correct bracelet size as this bracelet is not adjustable. Custom sizes are also available. Just reach out to us with your needs.
