Ketchikan Private Tour (6 Passenger Van)

Offered by Ketchikan Native Tours  In Ketchikan, Alaska

About us

Hi, my name is Kevin Johnson and we are excited to share our wonderful community of Ketchikan with you! Our guides are local Indigenous people and have a vast knowledge of the culture and history of this wonderful place we call home!

We love our home and our experienced tour guides will provide you with a personal wealth of knowledge regarding Alaskan Native history and Ketchikan's vast wildlife.

Ketchikan is home to numerous Native crafted Totem Poles. With well over 30 totems, we can take you through Totem Bight State Park, Potlatch Park, and Saxman Native Village.

When you tour with Ketchikan Native Tours you won't feel lost in the crowd as we offer small personalized touring options. Let's go visit the Tongass National Forest and take a moderate to light hike! The beauty of the Sitka Spruce and the Western Red Cedar trees is an experience not to be forgotten.

What we'll do

Enjoy a privately guided tour of Ketchikan with an expert local guide.

Our 2.5 hour tour begins and ends on the dock and this will hopefully give you a little more time in our precious town. You will be hearing many stories of our rich communities past and we’ll do our best to make you laugh. Remember this is “your” experience so please feel free to ask our local guides any questions. We will then head towards our beautiful little famous quiet spot “City Park”.

City Park has a significant connection to the community and to Indigenous people because at one time it was an active salmon hatchery. We’ll do our best to make a stop and let you stretch your legs and take a few pictures or selfies. From there we will head towards Totem Bight State Park or Saxman Native Village to view and hear the stories of some of the most historic totem poles in Southeast Alaska.

As we are heading towards Totem Bight State Park or Saxman Native Village you will see breathtaking views of the Tongass National Rainforest and the Tongass Narrows. Drive along the highway that hugs the ocean on your way to the totem park. On this majestic drive you may see Bald Eagles, and ocean wildlife. You’ll hear the stories of how life was once lived and the unique diversity of people found on Revillagigedo Island.

We are in Southeast Alaska so we will always be on the lookout for our abundant wildlife.

This is your opportunity to decide how to spend your time in town, with possible stops, including:
- Herring Cove
- Saxman Village
- Totem Bight State Park
- Beach walk / easy trail hike
- Creek Street
