About Us
Our Story:
For Lonn Goldbeck, licensed guide and owner of Willow Creek Tours, every day is a great day out on the water. “Where else would you rather be?” he asks.
A resident of Alaska since 1995, Lonn started guiding part-time to help out a friend. It turned out that meeting new people from all over and showing off Alaska’s wilderness suited him perfectly. “My wife teases me that everyone I meet becomes my new best friend,” says Lonn. “Being a tour guide and showing them things they haven’t seen allows me to experience it like new all over again. And the best part, sometimes we’re on the river all day and don’t see another person.”
When it comes to showing you his backyard, Lonn has an accommodating, let’s-make-it-happen style. That’s the great thing about working with a small, local business that can flex with your schedule and your preferences.
So if you want to stop and smell the Arctic roses for a while, search a gravel bar for moose tracks, or plan a multi-day trip of a lifetime, it can all be done. Just give Lonn a call.
Our Mission:
Rafting along a wilderness track that’s bursting with flora, fauna, and fish takes you right out of the hustle and bustle of your vacation and into authentic, full-fledged Alaska.
What’s that around the bend? You’ll never know unless you get on the river to float in some of Alaska’s wild places.
Willow Creek Tours leads the way with three trips daily to fit perfectly into your schedule.

With a beautiful drive just an hour and fifteen minutes north of Anchorage we have access to some of the best fishing in the state no bush plane needed! We will meet you at a local Willow favorite coffee spot- Lead Dog Espresso - and get you geared up for your trip. From there you will follow your guide to the first spot of water you will be fishing. After the fly fishing 101 you'll head down to the river and start casting and catching! Depending on how a certain area of water is fishing, the guide may have you follow them in your vehicle to another spot on the river. From rainbows to salmon we can show you how to handle some of Alaska's best water in a day! Our trips can begin as early as mid to late May and run through September 30th & just like anything in Alaska are at mother nature's whim. The rivers we guide on are the tributaries of the Susitna river systems. Based on which rivers are fishing the best, FishHound will supply our customers with the fishing gear they need (license's & parking fees excluded) from quality waders & boots to rods, reels, line & even flies at no additional charge! We realize that most folks who are doing these style of trips may be new to it & would have no idea what to bring, so we take the guess work out of it- right down to having back-up ponchos and rain gear for our guests.
