Tour Kenai Fjords on one of our cruise options ranging from 3.5 hours to 8.5 hours. Our cruises explore the glacier-carved fjords and abundant wildlife of Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park, offering some of the best glacier viewing and whale watching opportunities in Alaska.

We offer a range of different tours based on your interests and itinerary, including cruise options with educational kids programs, cruises for birders and photographers, and shorter cruises that stay in calmer, protected waters. What we'll do

Our longest cruise takes you to the remote, untouched Northwestern Fjord in Kenai Fjords National Park. Get up-close views of glaciers, whales, and wildlife on this small vessel adventure cruise. Complimentary deli lunch included.

Our 8.5 Hour Northwestern Fjord Cruise travels farther into Kenai Fjords National Park than any other cruise. Ideal for photographers, birders, and whale-watching enthusiasts, this small vessel adventure cruise explores the remote, untouched area of Northwestern Fjord in Kenai Fjords National Park. This cruise travels with a smaller group for a more intimate cruising experience, providing the best opportunity for up-close views of wildlife including humpback whales, orca whales, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, seabirds, otters, and more.

The 8.5 hours spent on the water will fly by as the captain seeks out the best wildlife viewing in the area. You will spend time in front of the impressive Northwestern Glacier, an actively calving tidewater glacier, and you will also visit Anchor and Ogive Glaciers. This tour is fully narrated by our experienced captains. The smaller group size gives you the best opportunities to interact with and ask questions of our experienced, knowledgeable crew.

This cruise offers the best opportunity for birding on all of our cruises.
The following bird species may be seen on this cruise: horned puffin, tufted puffin, common murre, thick-billed murre, black-legged kittiwake, oystercatcher, red-faced cormorant, double-crested cormorant, pelagic cormorant, Kittlitz’s murrelet, ancient murrelet, marbled murrelet, rhinoceros auklet, parakeet auklet, sooty shearwater, parasitic jaeger, long-tailed jaeger, peregrine falcon, pigeon guillemot, surf scoter, white-winged scoter, black scoter, merganser, eider, harlequin duck, goldeneye, loon, Leach’s storm petrel, fork-tailed storm petrel, Northern fulmar, and bald eagle.

- Are children allowed on this cruise?
Due to the nature of this cruise, children under 12 are not permitted. This is a small vessel adventure cruise that travels farthest into Kenai Fjords National Park and spends the most amount of time in the open ocean. Our age restrictions are put in place for your safety and enjoyment of the cruise. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions. As a family-owned business, we strive to provide a quality experience for all ages. Children are allowed on all other cruises.

- What is the difference between this cruise and the other cruises?
This cruise provides the unique experience of traveling on a smaller vessel with limited capacity. It provides more intimate wildlife and scenery viewing experience and explores a remote area that is not visited on any of our other tours. This cruise is ideal for birders and photographers. While we can’t guarantee whale sightings, this cruise offers the best chances for whale watching on any of our cruises, with a 95% chance of seeing whales. On this cruise you will view three active tidewater glaciers, offering the most glacier viewing of any of our cruises.

- Is a meal served on this cruise?
Yes, we offer a complimentary deli-style lunch on this cruise. We also have a snack bar on board, and you are more than welcome to bring your own food with you. Glass containers and personal alcohol are not permitted.

Cancellation Policy

Cruise-only reservations are fully refundable up to 72 hours prior to your cruise departure. A 3% credit card processing fee will be retained for cancellations. The reservation date may be changed once, free of charge, up to 24 hours prior to departure. Any subsequent change is subject to a $15 per person re-booking fee. Tickets not used at the time of sailing (no-show) are completely non-refundable and may not be used on any other sailings.

At the discretion of the Coast Guard-certified captain, Major Marine Tours reserves the right to cancel or re-route cruises based on weather or other conditions. If the route of this cruise is limited to the confines of Resurrection Bay, Major Marine Tours will issue a partial
refund. Please take precautions if you are concerned about seasickness. You will be advised of sea conditions at check-in.
