Juneau Sled Dog Discovery & Musher's Camp
Your journey will begin with a 25-minute narrated drive over to Douglas Island. Upon arriving up at dog camp, you will be greeted with overwhelming excitement from our teams of dogs that can’t wait to take you on the ride of your life. You will then hop aboard our custom-designed wheeled summer sleds that sit 6 people, with the musher steering the team from the back. Relax and enjoy watching the 16 dogs in front of you run with their hearts and souls to give you an authentic dog sledding experience. Halfway through your ride, the musher will stop to snap some photos of you with the dog team in front, as well as to give these dogs a break---anything above 0 degrees is a warm summer day for them! Get your list of questions ready, because, after the ride, your group will proceed to the covered wooden area for the Musher Presentation where you will learn all there is to know about this sport and the mushing lifestyle from a real musher and a retired sled dog. If you haven’t gotten enough pictures up at our scenic camp yet, venture on over to our hanging bridge that overlooks Fish Creek and is surrounded by gorgeous Spruce and Hemlock trees. Enjoy bouncing on the bridge but remember to save some energy for puppy time! That’s right---we almost always have at least a couple of litters of pups up at camp ready to be loved on. In fact, it is very important for future racing success that they have ample human socialization, so you cuddling up with these adorable husky pups is actually helpful---thank you! After enough puppy kisses, you will board your bus and head back to your dock so you can continue exploring our state’s charming capital. Skagway Sled Dog Discovery & Musher's Camp
Immerse yourself in the wondrous world of dog mushing! After the bus ride to camp, you will board our 4x4 military vehicle for a wild ride up the mountain where you will be greeted by mushers and several ecstatic Alaskan huskies! Then enjoy a summer sled ride on our custom-built sleds, where you will cruise through the forest, being towed by these professional athletes. After, learn about the history of dog mushing and soak up some puppy love before perusing our gift shop and returning to town. Your journey begins with an entertaining historic tour from your knowledgeable guide through downtown Skagway and along nine miles of stunning coastline to our Musher’s Camp™ in Dyea. Next, hop into our specialized Unimog for an exciting ride up our rugged mountain road, surrounded by glacially-fed streams and waterfalls. At the top, your musher will greet you with a custom-designed wheeled summertime sled and a team of very excited Alaskan Huskies! Feel the power of these strong dogs as they whisk you around a mile-long trail deep in the Tongass National Rainforest! After meeting your dog team, climb back into your Unimog and enjoy the adventurous ride to a breathtaking overlook of the Dyea tidal flats. Depending on the month you just might see eagles, bears, seals, horseback riders, wildflowers, and of course snow-capped mountains. Your Unimog will then bring you to what we like to call a “Kennel Talk.” We have been sharing our passion for dog sledding for years, and in that time, we have gathered up the most frequently asked questions about the sport. In the Kennel Talk, we will share the fascinating answers and welcome any additional questions you may have. Of course, we make sure you have plenty of time to play with our puppies! Grizzly Falls Ziplining Expedition
Come take an adrenaline-filled tour of Alaska! After the scenic bus ride up to Dyea, you will board our giant 4x4 military vehicle for an exciting ride up the mountain to our zipline camp. You will then meet your skilled guide who will suit you up in safety gear and prepare you to fly through the forest. Get ready to soar like an eagle through our epic course of 10 ziplines and 4 suspension bridges with breathtaking scenery abounding! Hop back on the bus for a calm ride back to town. It all begins at your cruise dock where you meet your guide. From there, enjoy an entertaining and historic tour through downtown Skagway then drive along nine miles of stunning coastline. When you arrive at our base in Dyea, you will transfer into our customized Unimog—an all-wheel drive vehicle necessary for getting up our rugged mountain road. At the top of the mountain, you will divide into groups of 8 and suit up in gear that meets the highest standards of safety while your highly trained guide tells you what to expect and how to safely navigate the course. You will then be led to the take-off zone, where you’ll clip in and fly away! You’ll soar through our exhilarating course of 8-10 zip lines; the longest measuring 750ft—that’s longer than 2 football fields combined! Additionally, don’t miss out on snapping pictures on our four state-of-the-art suspension bridges in the heart of Alaska's wild beauty. After completing the course, relax on the scenic drive back to town to wrap up a day of adventuring in the wilderness. Musher's Camp & Gold Panning
This authentic Alaskan tour begins with a bus ride through Skagway to our dog camp deep in the Tongass National Forest. Once you arrive, you will attend a presentation from our mushers where you will learn all there is to know about the sport, as well as meet these professional athletes and their pups! After this, get ready to feel like an early explorer by panning for gold in our riverside sluice. Top it off by traversing our scenic grounds and visiting our gift shop before returning to town. Your journey begins with an entertaining historic tour from your knowledgeable guide through downtown Skagway and along nine miles of stunning coastline to our Adventure Camp in Dyea. Glacier Point Wilderness Safari
This wilderness expedition to the spectacular Davidson Glacier immerses you in the abundant natural beauty of Alaska, leading you through fjords, rain forests, vibrant wildflowers, and towering mountains. Kick off the tour with a sublime cruise down the Lynn Canal, followed by a mellow hike to your canoe that will bring you face-to-face with the stunning Davidson Glacier. Wrap up the adventure with a picnic lunch on the beach before the return cruise back to town. On this spellbinding wilderness expedition, you will travel through fjords and rainforests viewing some of the most spectacular Alaskan scenery in Southeast. You’ll see everything from wildflowers to towering mountains and top off the experience with up-close views of the Davidson Glacier. Your adventure begins aboard one of our boats custom-designed to provide an intimate viewing experience. During your 75-minute journey through North America’s deepest fjord, keep a lookout for whales, seals, and cascading waterfalls while your Naturalist guide tells you more about the area you are traveling through. Upon arrival at the remote Glacier Point beach, you will take a short, adventurous drive in a school bus across the forested glacial moraines to our base camp where you will gear up in rubber boots and a life jacket. After a ¼ mile walk, the forest opens to reveal a breathtaking view of the Davidson Glacier and the pristine lake below. Here you will board a 31-foot voyager canoe for a trip around the lake to view the glacier and enjoy the incredible Alaskan wilderness while your guide shares their extensive knowledge of the area. Conditions permitting, you’ll make a stop on the delta to get up close and personal with the glacier. This is an optional 1/2 to 1-mile hike over a sand and pebble beach. After the walk on the delta, hop back in the canoe to begin your return trip. After arriving back at the base camp, enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach before your cruise back to town on the custom-designed wildlife-viewing boat.
