*About the Artist:
Donna Catotti, (b. 1950) is a distinguished and versatile artist residing in the breathtaking surroundings of Haines, Alaska. With a Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida Architecture School, her artistic explorations have included serigraphy, oil painting, pastel, sculpture, and watercolor. She shares her artistic haven, Catotti and Goldberg Art Studio with her husband, artist and luthier, Rob Goldberg. The studio is located on the peninsula six miles south of Haines, Alaska, a small community on the upper end of the Inside Passage.
Immersed in the majesty of mountains and oceans, abundant wildlife and marine life, and the extensive gardens they have created over 35 years, Donna draws much of her inspiration from her natural surroundings. Her subjects run the gamut from landscape to still life and floral, to portrait and figure. Her portfolio showcases a captivating blend of her latest paintings for upcoming competitions and exhibitions, as well as her contemporary graphic-style hand-printed original serigraphs.
Donna’s artistic journey has been marked by notable achievements, including many successful entries and awards in prestigious juried competitions. Her art has graced renowned venues such as the National Arts Club and Salmagundi in New York, the Haggin Museum in Stockton, CA, the Booth Museum in Cartersville, GA, and many others. Her complete curriculum vitae is on her website.
A member of many professional arts organizations, she acts as Alaskan Ambassador to the Portrait Society of America, curating shows and providing outreach for the state’s members. She attends their annual conference to learn from the best of the best, and was thrilled recently for being chosen as a finalist in their 2023 Members Only Competition in the landscape category for her painting “On the Edge of Time”.
In addition to her impressive artistic accolades, Donna Catotti shares her passion for art education by hosting annual Studio Incamminati “In Your Town” Portrait Workshops in Haines, Alaska with the school’s lead teachers from Philadelphia. The 7th annual workshop, scheduled for June 3-7, 2024, will be led by renowned instructor Kerry Dunn. Registration is available at studioincamminati.edu.
We invite you to explore the Catotti and Goldberg gallery on Voyij.com, where you can witness the artistry that unfolds from the heart of Alaska and acquire a piece that resonates with the beauty and serenity of Haines.
*What is a Hand Printed Serigraph?
Serigraphy is a silkscreen process used for fine art purposes. Out original prints are produced in limited editions as indicated in pencil below the image.
We make cut film stencils for screen printing, one for each color or blend of colors. A lacquer soluble film on a clear plastic backing is laid over a pattern, cut with an art knife, and peeled where you wish to print. The stencil is adhered to the screen in line with previous colors and the backing removed. The oil base ink is mixed, poured across the top of the screen, and the squeegee is “hand pulled by the artist”, pushing the ink through the fabric onto the paper below. This is repeated 200 times before that stencil is dissolved and the next one prepared. Sometimes we paint directly onto the screen with water soluble glue, another type of stencil.
These original serigraphs are produced and hand printed by Donna Catotti and Rob Goldberg in their studio on d’Arches Silkscreen 88, a 100% rag, neutral pH paper.

Sitka Wildlife Boat Tour (2.5 hours)
Experience the wild heartbeat of Sitka Sound on a 2.5-hour small-group wildlife tour led by a trained naturalist and a USCG-licensed captain. These waters sit at the meeting point of the North Pacific and the Gulf of Alaska, creating nutrient-rich upwellings that draw humpback whales, otters, sea lions, and seabirds in remarkable numbers. Your six-passenger vessel features panoramic windows, a warm enclosed cabin, and a large outdoor viewing deck that keeps you close to the action. Easy step-on access supports guests of all mobilities, so you can focus entirely on the experience. The route shifts with tide and weather, moving through channels and kelp forests where wildlife feeds and travels with the currents. Some encounters are quiet and close. Others erupt with energy—humpbacks rising through calm water, sea lions chasing herring, otters resting in drifting rafts. It’s an immersive, fast-moving way to feel the wonder of Sitka Sound’s rich marine ecosystem, guided by people who know this coastline by heart. what_is_included: * 2.5-hour guided wildlife watching boat tour * Expert captain and wildlife naturalist * Small-group access (maximum 6 guests) * Snacks and hot drinks onboard * High-quality binoculars * Life jackets / safety equipment what_is_not_included: * Personal camera equipment or tripods * Transportation to and from Crescent Harbor (easy walking distance from cruise drop-off) * Travel insurance (recommended) * Rain Gear and Personal Clothing * Gratuities for your captain and guide itinerary: Arrive — 15 minutes before departure Meet your guide on the northeast side of Centennial Hall, facing Crescent Harbor — just steps from the main cruise bus passenger drop-off. Check in with the guides, review the plan for the day, and get ready to explore Sitka’s wild coast. Boarding & Orientation — 10–15 minutes Step aboard a comfortable 6-passenger vessel built for small-group exploration. Your captain and naturalist will share a short safety briefing and introduce the rugged islands and wildlife that shape Sitka Sound. On the Water — About 2 hours Cruise through the island channels, following the rhythm of tide and weather. Watch for whales, sea lions, otters, puffins, and eagles while learning how these waters shape life along the coast. Your captain adjusts the route in real time to give you the best chance of encountering wildlife and experiencing Sitka’s quieter, wilder side. Expect sweeping views, calm coves, and open-water moments where the landscape feels expansive and alive. Return by Sea — Final 15 minutes We’ll make our way back toward town, pausing for wildlife along the way and exploring any last coves or channels that catch our eye. This unhurried return offers time for photos and reflection as Sitka’s volcanic coastline rises into view again.
