Description

Pick Your Poison builds on the first two novels of the series, Drunk on Peace and Quiet and Hung Over with Grandma, but all the reader really needs to know is Stella and Jonas are middle-aged newlyweds who are plagued by Stella’s troubled brother Timmy Lee.

In this sequel, Stella and Jonas face a new obstacle, a huge unwanted natural gas pipeline crossing their mountain farm. At the same time, her brother, a suspected murderer, is pretending to be a preacher at a sunny beach town in South Carolina and is targeting a wealthy woman who lives in a nursing home there. The two plots intersect in a conclusion that features Stella’s usual pragmatic decision-making. She "picks her poison" in a way that the reader may not expect.

Fathom Publishing Company

Fathom's goal is to publish quickly while paying careful attention to what is special about each book. We give personal attention to our authors and aim to make them proud to show off their publications. Early Years, Alaskana Connie Taylor formed Fathom Publishing Company in 1981 to publish books about Cordova, Alaska. Our first books were Cordova Fire Chief Dewey Whetsell's And the Fire's Not Green and Rose Arvidson's Cordova The First 75 Years. Next followed a coloring book by Cordova artist Mike Anderson, Coloring Alaska's Cordova. Nancy Ross and Mike Anderson collaborated on Cordova's Historic Buildings which included pen and ink drawings of old Cordova buildings and their history.

Aialik Glacier Paddle Boat Tour & Kayaking Adventure

Aialik Glacier near Seward, Alaska offers one of the most exciting wildlife and glacier viewing kayaking opportunities that you can visit in the heart of Kenai Fjords National Park! The Kenai Fjords National Park offers world-class kayaking in one of the most scenic and rugged areas of Alaska. There is abundant wildlife and sea life viewing as you travel by water taxi and kayak through this wilderness. Our focus with these tours and trips is to provide an educational insight into this glacial area of the Kenai Fjords National Park - often seeing puffins, loons, whales, porpoises, otters, eagles, bears, and grand scenery! This full-day trip departs Seward Boat Harbor on Seward's best water taxi! We are proud to partner with Weather Permitting and Alaska Wildland Adventures to make this trip possible. We follow the cliff-riddled coastline from Seward to the Gulf of Alaska and into our destination, Aialik Bay. Onboard the water taxi we will provide hot drinks and morning snacks as you enjoy the timeless scenery and unprecedented wildlife. Our journey includes whale watching and wildlife viewing opportunities such as Sea Lions, porpoises, and Sea Otters. Once we arrive in Aialik Bay, we are dropped off at shore to begin our kayaking portion of the trip. As we paddle out, often we see the glacier calving into the water and experience the surprising release of energy that creates thunder-like sounds. The water taxi/wildlife viewing portion is approximately 2.5 hours each way.
