Micro Macrame Earrings in the mini size
Made with either:
Antique copper hoops with niobium ear wires. Niobium is a 100% pure metal and originally starts out as a silvery color. The colored niobium is still 100% niobium; the color is not a coating. The folks that I get my ear wires from run an electrical current through the niobium which changes the way light bounces off of it. The refraction of the light is the color you see. The chemical composition and the hypoallergenic nature of the niobium are not changed at all.

Extremely lightweight and measure at about 2 inches long.
I hand texture and shape the wires to give a unique look to each pair.

About the artist
Hello! I'm Cayla, the creator and owner, based in Sitka, AK. I am Lingít and belong to the Dakl'aweidí tribe of Angoon. I worked several jobs in the service industry before I began playing around with macrame in 2017. Over the last several years I have learned that my hope for this work is to come alongside people in my community to help integrate more of the arts into our mental health work locally and statewide. While I spend a fair chunk of my time creating, I also aspire to work within the community to grow connections and accessibility to diverse forms of healing.

We explore the area looking for bears, goats, and moose while viewing massive glaciers and unique water features. The loop will end with a landing back at Seward Airport.
