*About the Artist:
Donna Catotti, (b. 1950) is a distinguished and versatile artist residing in the breathtaking surroundings of Haines, Alaska. With a Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida Architecture School, her artistic explorations have included serigraphy, oil painting, pastel, sculpture, and watercolor. She shares her artistic haven, Catotti and Goldberg Art Studio with her husband, artist and luthier, Rob Goldberg. The studio is located on the peninsula six miles south of Haines, Alaska, a small community on the upper end of the Inside Passage.
Immersed in the majesty of mountains and oceans, abundant wildlife and marine life, and the extensive gardens they have created over 35 years, Donna draws much of her inspiration from her natural surroundings. Her subjects run the gamut from landscape to still life and floral, to portrait and figure. Her portfolio showcases a captivating blend of her latest paintings for upcoming competitions and exhibitions, as well as her contemporary graphic-style hand-printed original serigraphs.
Donna’s artistic journey has been marked by notable achievements, including many successful entries and awards in prestigious juried competitions. Her art has graced renowned venues such as the National Arts Club and Salmagundi in New York, the Haggin Museum in Stockton, CA, the Booth Museum in Cartersville, GA, and many others. Her complete curriculum vitae is on her website.
A member of many professional arts organizations, she acts as Alaskan Ambassador to the Portrait Society of America, curating shows and providing outreach for the state’s members. She attends their annual conference to learn from the best of the best, and was thrilled recently for being chosen as a finalist in their 2023 Members Only Competition in the landscape category for her painting “On the Edge of Time”.
In addition to her impressive artistic accolades, Donna Catotti shares her passion for art education by hosting annual Studio Incamminati “In Your Town” Portrait Workshops in Haines, Alaska with the school’s lead teachers from Philadelphia. The 7th annual workshop, scheduled for June 3-7, 2024, will be led by renowned instructor Kerry Dunn. Registration is available at studioincamminati.edu.
We invite you to explore the Catotti and Goldberg gallery on Voyij.com, where you can witness the artistry that unfolds from the heart of Alaska and acquire a piece that resonates with the beauty and serenity of Haines.
*What is a Hand Printed Serigraph?
Serigraphy is a silkscreen process used for fine art purposes. Out original prints are produced in limited editions as indicated in pencil below the image.
We make cut film stencils for screen printing, one for each color or blend of colors. A lacquer soluble film on a clear plastic backing is laid over a pattern, cut with an art knife, and peeled where you wish to print. The stencil is adhered to the screen in line with previous colors and the backing removed. The oil base ink is mixed, poured across the top of the screen, and the squeegee is “hand pulled by the artist”, pushing the ink through the fabric onto the paper below. This is repeated 200 times before that stencil is dissolved and the next one prepared. Sometimes we paint directly onto the screen with water soluble glue, another type of stencil.
These original serigraphs are produced and hand printed by Donna Catotti and Rob Goldberg in their studio on d’Arches Silkscreen 88, a 100% rag, neutral pH paper.

Norris Adventure: Seaplane, Paddle & Glacier Hike
Experience 3 iconic Alaskan adventures—flightseeing, glacier hiking, and packrafting—all in just 5 hours! This is Juneau’s first multi-sport adventure of this kind. Packrafting is one of the fastest growing sports in Alaska. This Packraft adventure begins with boarding a six-passenger floatplane and taking off from the water. The scenic flight will head towards the mouth of the Taku Inlet, a gateway to flowing glaciers of the Juneau icefield. Keep an eye out for mountain goats, black bears and moose along the way. After landing on the Norris Glacier fed lake, hike over the glacially carved terrain to a cove where your packraft awaits. From here, you will be outfitted in single person packrafts and introduced paddling techniques by your guides. Once you launch your packraft, your paddle to the glacier will take you past icebergs, all while taking in the stunning mountain and glacier landscapes around you. As you approach the glacier, prepare to beach your boat right on the Norris Glacier, your guide will assist you in getting out of your packraft and into micro-spikes. Explore the moonscape-like area of the glacier all by foot and get panoramic views of Norris and Taku glaciers. Look for crevasses, glacier pools, moulins, and other incredible ice features. Glacier features come and go throughout the season, just like the ebb and flow of our glaciers. Upon completion of your glacier hike, slide back into your packraft and paddle back to shore. Your floatplane awaits to take you back to Juneau. what_is_included: * Professional Guide * Roundtrip van and floatplane transportation * All paddling equipment and glacier gear (helmet, microspikes, and trekking poles) * Forest Service permits * Rain Gear (hooded jacket, rubber boots, and pants) * Hearty snack pack * Souvenir water bottle what_is_not_included: We provide all the gear on our trips except for personal clothing. Regarding the weather, we recommend you prepare for rain and hope for sunshine. Due to the cool, damp climate, it is best NOT to wear cotton or denim and instead, wear clothing made of polyester, wool, fleece, nylon, polypropylene, and/or capilene. You are more than welcome to bring personal items on any of our tours (Camera, reusable water bottle, food, layers, etc.).
