Our tours bring visitors from Icy Straight Point Cruise Ship port and Hoonah to the natural playground we enjoy and appreciate everyday. The waters near Icy Strait Point have some of the best humpback whale watching in the world with regular, daily sightings occurring between the months of May through September. Southeast Alaska also has some of the most premier fishing available including halibut and salmon.

We offer Whale Watch, Fishing Charters and Transporting of materials to remote locations. Our tours are timed to coincide with the cruise ships schedules. Charter options available. Tours pick up and drop off at the Icy Strait Point Excursions Hub, a short 5 minute walk from your ship. We would love to share Hoonah, Port Frederick and Icy Straits with you! We hope to see you in Alaska!

* The Boat: The boat is a custom aluminum catamaran made by Munson Co Inc and fully-equipped with all available safety gear. The boat has a heated cabin with comfortable seating for all and restroom available for use. We limit tours to 6 people which allows for an intimate experience of Southeast Alaska wildlife and scenery.

The Silver Spoon is equipped with large windows and complete walk-around decks which provides a unobstructed 360 degree viewing of the pristine waters of Southeast Alaska.

*The Captain: Captain Billy is a locally raised Tlingit of Hoonah, Alaska. His Tlingit name is Deikee Jaak of the Wooshkeetaan ” Eagle and Shark house.” Captain Billy started fishing with his father, uncles and grandfather at a young age on the waters of Southeast Alaska. Captain Billy served as a Police Lieutenant for the Hoonah Police Department for over 25 Years. During that time he spent a lot of time on the water helping with search and rescue and boat recovery. Captain Billy is a graduate of the Flagship Maritime Training Center in Washington and is a USCG Certified Captain. In his free time Captain Billy spends most of his time on the water fishing and hunting.

* Our Location: Located in Port Frederick along side Icy Straits, Hoonah Alaska is a quiet town which has been home to the Tlingit people since advancing ice pushed them from their home in Glacier Bay during the last ice age. The largest Tlingit community in Alaska, Hoonah has a rich cultural heritage which can be explored and enjoyed during your visit.

Due to Hoonah’s location, we are given immediate access to fishing and excellent whale watching. Humpback and killer whales have been spotted from time to time working along the shores right in front of town. The rich waters of Icy Strait support a large and diverse population of marine mammals, fish, and birds.

The City of Hoonah is Located one mile from the Icy Strait Point cruise port, which offers visitors several excellent places to eat, shop, and stay during your visit.
