What We Will Do

Our summer full day wade trips take place up in the town of Willow, AK, a beautiful and scenic hour and fifteen minute drive north of Anchorage. We are the closest consistent fishing location to Anchorage!

We have taken our knowledge & experience that comes with multi-day Alaska fishing trips and focused that talent into our 1/2 day Alaskan fishing adventure! Since our guides are local fisherman first we know when & where to catch fish on the Alaskan road system. With a beautiful drive just an hour and fifteen minutes north of Anchorage we have access to some of the best fishing in the state no bush plane needed!

We will meet you at Willow Creek Resort to start out your trip.

These trips are great for guests of all ages and skill levels! We've taken folks as young as 4 and as old as 94 out on our trips!

Once you're at the river, your guide will chat with you about your experience level and if needed do a hands on fly fishing 101 to get even the most novice angler ready to expertly land some fish.

After the fly fishing 101 you'll jump into the raft and start your float down the river and start casting and catching!

Our rafts are outfitted with custom frames that allow for seats with backs. This makes the day of fishing so comfortable, especially for older folks or those that need a little more support when floating down the river. This is a fun trip even for guests that are more into sightseeing than fishing, and great for all ages!

Depending on how a certain area of water is fishing, the guide may have you follow them in your vehicle to another spot on the river.

From rainbows to salmon we can show you how to handle some of Alaska's best water in a day!

Our trips can begin as early as mid to late May and run through September 30th & just like anything in Alaska are at mother nature's whim. The rivers we guide on are the tributaries of the Susitna river systems. Based on which rivers are fishing the best, FishHound will supply our customers with the fishing gear they need (license's & parking fees excluded) from quality waders & boots to rods, reels, line & even flies at no additional charge!

We realize that most folks who are doing these style of trips may be new to it & would have no idea what to bring, so we take the guess work out of it- right down to having back-up ponchos and rain gear for our guests.

2 Canyon 6 Mile Creek Whitewater Rafting

Six mile creek has such an abundance of whitewater that one rapid will quickly fade from memory as you anxiously look down river preparing for the next. Precipitous drops, thundering hydraulics and powerful waves follow one after the other in quick succession. Six Mile creek or "The Creek" is split up into 3 canyons or sections of white water each getting progressively longer, harder and more technical. The entire trip (both 2 canyon and 3 canyon participants) all begin their adventure together at the same put-in and can even be in the same boat. As the trip progress's down stream thru Alaska's best whitewater, each passenger has the choice to tailor the trip to their own level of excitement no matter what they signed up for at the end of the 2nd canyon. So if you only signed up for 2 canyons and are up to the challenge of the 2.8 mile long Class V 3rd Canyon we can just continue on down stream and we'll just settle up the price difference when we get back. Just the same if you sign up for 3 canyons and are feeling like you've found your happy place in the first 2 Class IV canyons no worries we can get you out there. And if you cant decide our experienced and professional guides will be there to help you make your decision.
