What We Will Do
Six mile creek has such an abundance of whitewater that one rapid will quickly fade from memory as you anxiously look down river preparing for the next. Precipitous drops, thundering hydraulics and powerful waves follow one after the other in quick succession.
Six Mile creek or "The Creek" is split up into 3 canyons or sections of white water each getting progressively longer, harder and more technical. The entire trip (both 2 canyon and 3 canyon participants) all begin their adventure together at the same put-in and can even be in the same boat. As the trip progress's down stream thru Alaska's best whitewater, each passenger has the choice to tailor the trip to their own level of excitement no matter what they signed up for at the end of the 2nd canyon. So if you only signed up for 2 canyons and are up to the challenge of the 2.8 mile long Class V 3rd Canyon we can just continue on down stream and we'll just settle up the price difference when we get back. Just the same if you sign up for 3 canyons and are feeling like you've found your happy place in the first 2 Class IV canyons no worries we can get you out there. And if you cant decide our experienced and professional guides will be there to help you make your decision.

About Us
Rising over 300 feet in places, towering canyon walls are draped in a lush carpet of old growth rain-forest with cascading waterfalls pouring in from the sides. Crystal clear water with healthy salmon runs make this a river runner’s dream. Safely running Sixmile’s narrowly constricted passageways takes a coordinated team effort with technical and precise paddling. Working closely with your guide, you’ll be paddling while (s)he handles the oars. This oar paddling combination gives you power when you need it, as well as precise maneuvering capability.
For those who want the most excitement we offer paddle rafting, everyone paddles with the guide sitting in the back giving paddle commands. Sixmile has such an abundance of whitewater that one rapid will quickly fade from memory as you anxiously look down river preparing for the next. Precipitous drops, thundering hydraulics and powerful waves follow one after the other in quick succession. With each succeeding canyon, we’ll encounter whitewater of increasing difficulty. With rapids known as “Staircase,” “Suckhole,” “Merry-Go-Round” and “Jaws,” the third and most difficult canyon has six rapids rated at Class IV+ and Class V. We offer two choices on Six Mile Creek. You can do the Class IV Two Canyon Run or the Class IV and V Three Canyon Run.

Most of the rivers we fish are covered in ice and a blanket of snow during a large portion of the year. If you're visiting Alaska in the winter and want to get a fishing rod in your hands, ice fishing Alaska is an amazing trip and a great time for all ages and all experience levels! Hard water fishing is a big part of Alaskan life and we are happy to share it with folks visiting our great state. We are able to take folks out ice fishing throughout the greater Anchorage area as well as Girdwood, and the Mat-Su Valley. Once the location is decided we will come pick you up or have you follow us out to the lake. Once we get there, guests and guides will walk out on to the lake and up goes the warm portable pop up ice shelter and out comes the ice auger to drill through the ice. Hot drinks or cold beer are readily at hand throughout the day, and a heater is churning away keeping the hut toasty and warm. We also provide homemade chili as a delicious hot snack. Everyone gets a fishing pole to pursue a variety of fish such as rainbow trout, Arctic grayling, juvenile salmon, black fish, and Arctic char. We also provide comfortable seats and ice cleats to help you make your time on the ice as comfortable and easy as possible. We provide almost everything you will need to have a great day out on the ice! Guest’s need to come prepared with their own warm clothes and footwear. After all, this is ice fishing Alaska style! Guests will also need a fishing license, and an eagerness to try and land some fish!

Full Day Heli-Fishing Flyfishing Trip
There is no greater access to Alaska’s wild rivers than via a helicopter! We run heli-fishing trips on multiple rivers throughout Southcentral Alaska, which is easily accessible from the Anchorage area. Our single day heli-fishing trips provide an amazing remote Alaskan river experience with much more ease than what you can accomplish on the road system. This is an opportunity to get out to nature, with no one else nearby and quickly start casting your fly in our amazing Alaskan tributaries, which are flowing with fish! This is a perfect trip for folks who want a wilderness trip/experience but don’t want to spend their whole time in Alaska in one remote location. Most trips depart from the beautiful town of Talkeetna in the shadow of Denali. Denali provides an amazing view as you are flown out to some of the most phenomenal fishing in Alaska. Depending on the time of year we target all 5 species of Pacific salmon. Huge bruiser rainbow trout are always present as well as Arctic grayling and Dolly Varden. Just like all our trips all fishing gear, tackle, food and drinks are included in the price of the trip except a fishing license which is easily purchased from the state. These trips can even be booked fairly last minute but more notification is always better when involving air travel. Please feel free to call or email to find out more information on these amazing trips!
