Your three hour experience begins with transportation services provided by DogGoneIt, where you will be picked up from your hotel lobby by Caitlin who will regale you with her vast knowledge of the area, as well as personal stories of living in Alaska as you travel alongside the gorgeous Nenana River carving its way through the majestic Alaska Range.
Meet the Pups - A Real Treat
Once you arrive at the kennel, you’ll paw-sitively melt when you are met by armfuls of adorable Alaskan Husky puppies! You will be given plenty of time to snuggle and take pictures with our newest pack members.
Once your puppy fix has been fully satiated you’ll venture into the dog yard where you’ll meet the big dogs. Here, you will experience the thrill of a team taking off on a training run. A live presentation enhanced with pictures and videos from the trail offers a deep dive into the lives of these incredible athletes, culminating with the team thundering back into the kennel.
Once you are experts on all things Alaskan Husky, you will make your way into our theater, where it’s race time! Using photos and video Caitlin will take you through the intensive process of preparing for, and ultimately racing, the longest sled dog race in the world: The Iditarod! Spanning over 1,000 miles, the race is a true testament to the character, will, and spirit that embodies what it means to be an Alaskan.

You will be given ample time for questions, a chance to peruse our gift shop, and of course, the opportunity to visit with our puppies before you head out on your next adventure. Explore the mountains just outside Denali National Park with a chance to view Denali, Mt Deborah, and local wildlife! Enjoy this breathtaking helicopter ride through the peaks and valleys that make up the Alaska Range. Just moments after taking off from our riverside heliport, you will find yourself immersed deep in the Alaskan backcountry. As you explore the mountains just outside Denali National Park, look below for local wildlife or keep your eyes on the horizon for a chance to see Mt. Denali, North America's tallest mountain, or Mt. Deborah, her impressive sister to the east. You will set down on the soft, alpine tundra giving you the opportunity to step out and into the scenic landscape. With the pilot as your guide, take this opportunity to explore the local ecosystem, scan for local wildlife, snap a flurry of keepsake photographs, or just sink your feet into the tundra and breathe in the crisp mountain air.
Backcountry Photo Excursion by Helicopter
With only 10% of the entire state of Alaska accessible by road, we are proud to offer a premier helicopter-access photography excursion. Soar to a peak on Mt. Fellows where we will land in a remote location with 360° views of the Alaska Range. The landing area is broad and offers the opportunity for walking around or hiking up the ridgeline, for the more adventurous traveler. You will have over 2 hours for exploration and personalized photo instruction. This is a unique opportunity to experience the wilderness of Denali and take your time to compose the perfect shot. Activity level is moderate. You will be flown with your guide and land on the rolling tundra of the Alaska Range where you will photograph with your guide for 2+ hours. There are no trails, and the tundra is uneven terrain which can be challenging. Comfortable and supportive shoes are recommended. Please be prepared, there will not be comfortable places to sit for the duration of the excursion and the helicopter may be challenging to get in and out of. The best camera is the one you have! Our tour is designed to benefit all skill levels with any type of camera (smart-phones welcome). No matter what gear you have, our guides will be able to help you progress as a photographer. Beginners will learn techniques to get more out of their equipment; how to read light and adjust their exposure settings to photograph Alaska’s stunning scenery and wildlife in a way that "does it justice.” Advanced photographers will enjoy the luxury of being driven to the best locations without having to rent a car or trying to scout the vast and unfamiliar landscape. Flight Safety: We charter TEMSCO helicopters to fly us into the backcountry. Your safety is their top priority. TEMSCO Helicopters has been flying in Alaska since 1958 starting with one helicopter at its founding. Today the TEMSCO fleet is forty plus helicopters strong and operates across several industries. Since their beginnings in Timber, Exploration, Mining, Survey, and Cargo Operations, TEMSCO has expanded to a variety of services including firefighting, fish and wildlife studies, med-evacs, search and rescue, photo flights, heli-skiing and tourism. For our tours, we operate "A-Star” helicopters, which seat 5-6 passengers and our MD500, with seating for 3 passengers. Healy Express Run: Paddle Raft
Get the whole enchilada on this combination of the “McKinley” and “Canyon Run”. A brief break in the middle gives you time for a quick snack if you wish to bring one. Begin with the “McKinley Run” A spectacular trip over class II, and III water through the most scenic and beautiful portion of the Nenana River. This is your chance to sit back and enjoy the rugged wilderness. Continue on with the “Canyon Run”! Hang on! It’s whitewater ahead! You’ll get wet and enjoy every minute as we head for Healy. Get into real whitewater rafting as you hang on through thrilling rapids such as “Cable Car,” “Coffee Grinder,” and “Ice Worm”! You have your choice of Oar Rafts or Paddle Rafts (It takes 5 participants to paddle, when possible we combine parties to reach five or more). Both oar rafts and paddle rafts run the same rapids on the river. Perfect for 1st timers, an oar raft, is rowed by the guide while rafters sit, hold on, and enjoy the view. In a paddle raft, you will be expected to follow instructions and actively participate by paddling the raft downriver. You still have a guide but everyone has a paddle and the guide instructs you on how and when to paddle. Our Shuttle Service provides the pickup from local lodging, plus transportation to and from the river.

Leave the buses and boardwalks behind. Hike high into the Alaska Range. Feel the wind in your hair and the rocks beneath your feet. As the views begin to unfold, you won’t be able to peel your eyes away. The rugged mountains rise around you like monolithic castles. The wide valleys stretch into the distance. The greens, reds, and blues of the tundra create a patchwork quilt unlike any other. Now pick your jaw back up! There’s more to see, and higher to go! Toil further up the steep ridge. We run heli-fishing trips on multiple rivers throughout Southcentral Alaska, which is easily accessible from the Anchorage area.
