What to expect / what's provided
- We will visit Point Woronzof/Earthquake Park, world famous Lake Hood then head out along the Seward Highway. This road is considered to be America’s most beautiful and scenic road, crossing mountain passes and majestic valleys.
- Along the way we will try to spot moose, caribou, eagles and other wildlife.
- On our way towards Seward, we will make a couple of stops for photo opportunities along the Turnagain Arm.
- We will visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center opened to the public in 1993. It is located at the southern edge of Turnagain Arm and the entrance to Portage Valley. The center’s mission is to provide care and rehabilitation for injured and orphaned wildlife and to provide wildlife education and awareness. Animals that are unable to be released or survive in the wild are given refuge in the center's spacious habitats. Here people can safely get close, observe and photograph some of Alaska's largest land animals, including moose, bison, elk, deer, caribou, bears muskox, small mammals and birds of prey. During spring and summer, visitors can often witness the rehabilitation of orphaned baby animals of various species.
- We will make a stop and enjoy a delicious lunch (included as part of your tour)
- After lunch we continue south along the Seward Highway enjoying amazing mountain vistas. If time permits, we can visit Exit Glacier where you can take an optional hike to the glacier's edge. The Exit Glacier hike is a nice easy hike where we will take you to the face of the glacier. From here, you will enjoy beautiful mountain vistas as your guide talks about the geology of the area and glacier progression through the valley. Your tour ends at the cruise ship terminal in Seward, a small town located on Resurrection Bay.
Allow up to 8 hours (approximately) for this tour. This tour ends in Seward at the cruise ship port.
