Description
Enjoy this impeccable sea otter fur and seal skin purse by Native Tlingit artist Christy Ruby.
This little pocket purse comes with soft fluffy sea otter and bristly seal furs. Remember that all seals are not alike and colors will vary.
Size is 4.5 inches x 3.5 inches and can be used for business, credit cards or change. Not lined.
This pocket purse makes a great hand warmer with a "Little Hottie" warmer. Just open the bag and place the little pouch in the pocket and snap it shut for 8 hours of pure warmth. Your hands will never get cold again.
All my hides are fresh, meaning, they are harvested the season prior and beautifully tanned in spring for the following winter assembly. I take pride in caring for my products from start to finish.
My work takes me back to my ancestral roots. The fur has a familiar sensation that meant life or death to my people and its value has not changed for thousands of years. Using skills taught to us from the past will insure we will never go hungry and we can always clothe ourselves. But we didn’t just hunt; we strove for individual expression in the creation of beautiful clan art. It’s with this sentimental pallet that I create modern looks with glimpses from the past. My creations are inspired from skills passed down to me by my grandfather: a very talented man from Klukwan who carved totem poles and toured the world as a Chilkat dancer. I strive to be as proud of my work as I am of my heritage.
I am Christy Ruby, an Alaskan Native Tlingit Eagle from the Keet Gooshi Hit House, Killer Whale Dorsal Fin.
Due to Marine Mammal Protection Act, cannot be shipped out of the U.S.
