Description
After a long night of aurora chasing, I was heading back to my car for the long drive home when I looked up. The view through the trees created an otherworldly sensation, almost as if some extraterrestrial presence was coming in for a landing.

ARTIST PRINT: Carl uses thick, high quality fine art paper for all of his Artist Prints. These prints are made personally by the artist up to the 16x24 size, then by a professional lab for larger sizes. Printed on sheet paper, or roll paper for panoramic prints, these prints are printed to full size with the excess paper trimmed down to a small border around the image. This provides for a sufficient edge for your framing shop when it comes time to frame your print. Larger prints are shipped rolled to minimize damage and reduce shipping costs.
METAL PRINT: Metal prints represent a new art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. Because the image is infused into the surface and not on it, your images will take on an almost magical luminescence. The ultra-hard scratch-resistant surface is waterproof/weatherproof and can be cleaned easily – just avoid direct sunlight. The prints are mounted on a floating mount for ease of hanging. These prints are shipped directly from a professional lab for lower shipping costs.
LUMACHROME MUSEUM PLUS: The Lumachrome print is a three-part process, with a color transfer applied to a paper material, then covered with a 1/8-inch thick acrylic face. The acrylic is coated with a P99 Non-Glare UFA 95% UV protection surface. It also includes a 3mm Comatex protective backing for edge protection and a 3/4 inch floating frame* for hanging. The print is archival quality with a 120-year life. Prints are shipped directly from the lab for lower shipping.
*Larger prints are backed with a Heavy Duty Roma rear frame.
All Artist Prints are shipped via U.S. Postal Service. The method of shipping the Metal and Lumachrome prints is determined by the manufacturing lab. Tracking information is provided upon shipping.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Carl is an award-winning nature photographer based in Anchorage, Alaska. He has extensively photographed Alaska's scenery, wildlife, and lifestyle. He also travels to Hawaii, the American West, and other countries in the circumpolar Arctic. He sells prints online and at his Anchorage gallery, leads tours and workshops in Alaska, and provides a variety of photo services.
"I am not a specific type of photographer - wildlife, landscape, or whatever. I am a location photographer. I strive to understand and capture the essence of wherever I go. My greatest photographic passion lies in coming to fully understand a particular location, photographing all of its wonders, from small plants to vast landscapes, and increasingly the people who live with the land and call it home."
