About the Photo:
The night before this while hiking in the mountain was fully enclosed in clouds and I had no idea where Denali was. I happened to wake at 4 a.m. and when I looked out my tent the great mountain was clearing from the clouds. I ran back to a marshy area from hiking in and got some amazing clear pictures on a beautiful calm morning.
This photo is available in Traditional Print, Canvas Gallery Wrap, and Metal Print. Please refer to the upper right selection area to view the size options and prices.
• Traditional Prints are printed on a lustre archival paper, and come unframed.
• Canvas Gallery Wraps come already wrapped around a wooden frame and are ready to hang.
• Metal Prints are printed on high quality aluminum metal and will last for over 100 years. Metal really makes the image come to life and has very vibrant colors. Metal Prints are lightweight compared to other mediums and come ready to hang, as they do not need to be framed. It’s unique backing has it come ½” from the wall creating a more modern floating effect.

Guaranteed Whale Watching
Our local captain, Duane, will guide you through an unforgettable and surreal whale and wildlife watching experience, describing the diversity of wildlife and its cultural connection and significance to the Hoonah Tlingit people. The high accumulation of natural food in these waters makes it a habitual feeding ground for one of Alaska’s largest resident humpback whale populations, providing for a unique experience of “bubble-net feeding”, flipper slapping, and spectacular breaching! Our custom-built whale-watching vessel is highly maneuverable with a low profile design and large windows that allow unrestricted viewing while getting up close and personal to whales and other wildlife, yet staying dry and out of the weather. Viewing platforms on the outer decks allow you to get outside and experience the whales with all of your senses – see them, hear them, and, yes, when they come up close and spout, that whale breath is an experience your nose won’t forget! We will meet you at Icy Strait Point and transfer you to our vessel, Captain and Crew. For 2.5 hours you’ll be traveling through the waters of Icy Strait – home to a wide array of wildlife including Orcas (killer whales), Stellar sea lions, sea otters, Harbor seals, Dall’s porpoise, and the magnificent humpback whale. Keep an eye out for brown bears and Sitka Black-tailed deer meandering the shoreline, and the noble Bald eagle perched on tree-tops. From the village of Hoonah to Pt. Adolphus near Glacier Bay National Park, Icy Strait Whale Adventures will delight in sharing the majestic beauty and culture that is Alaska!

Private Aurora Tour
We have taken our popular Anchorage Aurora Quest and put a more high-end, private spin on it. Welcome to our Private Aurora Tour! Much like our Anchorage Aurora Quest, this tour is designed to maximize your opportunity to see the northern lights at scenic locations. We utilize a variety of science-based apps and websites, along with our historical data of recent aurora seasons, to determine the best nights and locations to go. We also provide photographic instruction to those desiring to photograph the northern lights, and provide complimentary professional portraits of you with the aurora, taken by our professional photographer guides. But we add some special touches to this tour, including an initial presentation about the science of the northern lights at our office (along with drinks and snacks), a hot soup or stew with artisan bread, dessert, and a portable bonfire while out on location and a longer tour duration to maximize your opportunity to see the lights and enjoy them. Finally, unlike our Anchorage Aurora Quest tour, we will pick you up at any location within a two-hour drive of downtown Anchorage. This driving time would be included in the total time of your tour. (Of course, for locations that are farther away, the office presentation would not be available.) Additionally, starting two days out from your tour, we give you a personalized forecast (at no extra cost) for both the weather and aurora conditions to give you an idea as to the likelihood that the tour will proceed on your scheduled night. If conditions are not looking good, we work with you early to potentially reschedule in order to maximize your success in seeing the northern lights. What's Included - Pick up and drop off at any location within two hour drive of Anchorage (driving time included in tour total) - Narrative on the science and lore surrounding auroras provided by your guide. - Handwarmers - Creative and technical photography instruction is offered by your professional photographer guide. - North Slope-rated heavy winter parkas/jackets are available for loan (indicate during booking if you need to borrow one). - Soup or stew, artisan bread, dessert, hot drinks, and water (we strive to reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in the environment, so fresh water from a jug along with refillable cups). - Portable bonfire on location - Tripod and camera are available to loan. Camera flash card included in loaner camera. Let us know in advance if you wish to borrow a camera. - Aurora portrait and high resolution digital files of all photos taken during the tour.
