Our goal is simple: to share our intimate knowledge of fly fishing and traditional fishing on the Kenai River in Alaska with you. We want to and your guided river fishing experience the most memorable day of your Alaskan vacation! Cooper Landing is situated at the start of the Kenai River. Our town is home to roughly 250 year-round residents. A small number of our residents are Kenai River fishing guides. About the Location: Copper Landing
Cooper Landing, Alaska is the perfect jump-off point for fishing for Salmon and Rainbow Trout on the Kenai River. Our town is also one of the best places for recreational activities on the entire Kenai Peninsula. Cooper Landing is conveniently located along the Sterling Highway on the upper Kenai Peninsula. It is right at the very start of the Kenai River. Cooper Landing gives visitors perfect access to Homer, Seward, Sterling, Soldotna, Kenai, Hope, Whittier, Moose Pass, and Girdwood. We are a short drive from most places. Folks visit us via a rental car, taxi service, or RV from Great Alaskan Holidays.
Most guided fishing trips & charters begin and end in Cooper Landing. Whether we're fishing the Upper Kenai River, the Middle Kenai River, or the Kasilof River, you'll find everything you need within our community. No matter your skill level, you'll finish the day feeling like you've been fishing your whole life!
What to expect / what's provided
*What's included:
- 20' drift boats and power boats
- 6-9wt fly rods and reels, spinning rods, and trolling rods
- chest waders and wading boots (as needed)
- flies, leaders, lures, bait, and terminal tackle
- salmon filleting on the river
* What's Not Included:
- Current Alaska state fishing license - available online at adfg.alaska.gov/store
- Sunscreen, bug repellent, polarized sunglasses
- Weather-specific clothing (layers and warm socks)
- Gratuities (terminal tackle, bait, flies, shuttles, fuel, boat launch fees, and rods/reels are provided by individual guides. it is customary for guides to receive gratuities based on their professionalism and attentiveness. a typical gratuity is around 20%)
