About Us

Denali ATV led its first tour in May 2007. The goal was to mix a love of adventure motorsports with a love of the Denali wilderness. ATVs are as Alaskan as Denali itself and we feel there’s no better way to explore the backcountry. Our trail system is surrounded by Denali National Park, giving us the unbelievable Park-like landscape to navigate. It is our dream to share that experience with you.

Denali ATV operates Yamaha ATVs, an industry leader in motorsports. We buy new model ATVs and Side by Sides every season to give you the latest and greatest ride. Along with offering the best equipment, our goal is to immerse you in the Denali outdoors. Our guides showcase the history of the Denali area, highlight the flora and fauna, share stories of Alaskan adventures, and keep you cruising over the rugged terrain.

Deborah, her impressive sister to the east. You will set down on the soft, alpine tundra giving you the opportunity to step out and into the scenic landscape. Backcountry Photo Excursion by Helicopter

With only 10% of the entire state of Alaska accessible by road, we are proud to offer a premier helicopter-access photography excursion. Soar to a peak on Mt. Fellows where we will land in a remote location with 360° views of the Alaska Range. The landing area is broad and offers the opportunity for walking around or hiking up the ridgeline, for the more adventurous traveler. You will have over 2 hours for exploration and personalized photo instruction. This is a unique opportunity to experience the wilderness of Denali and take your time to compose the perfect shot. Activity level is moderate. You will be flown with your guide and land on the rolling tundra of the Alaska Range where you will photograph with your guide for 2+ hours. There are no trails, and the tundra is uneven terrain which can be challenging. Comfortable and supportive shoes are recommended. Please be prepared, there will not be comfortable places to sit for the duration of the excursion and the helicopter may be challenging to get in and out of. The best camera is the one you have! Our tour is designed to benefit all skill levels with any type of camera (smart-phones welcome). No matter what gear you have, our guides will be able to help you progress as a photographer. Beginners will learn techniques to get more out of their equipment; how to read light and adjust their exposure settings to photograph Alaska’s stunning scenery and wildlife in a way that "does it justice.” Advanced photographers will enjoy the luxury of being driven to the best locations without having to rent a car or trying to scout the vast and unfamiliar landscape. Flight Safety: We charter TEMSCO helicopters to fly us into the backcountry. Your safety is their top priority. TEMSCO Helicopters has been flying in Alaska since 1958 starting with one helicopter at its founding. Today the TEMSCO fleet is forty plus helicopters strong and operates across several industries. Since their beginnings in Timber, Exploration, Mining, Survey, and Cargo Operations, TEMSCO has expanded to a variety of services including firefighting, fish and wildlife studies, med-evacs, search and rescue, photo flights, heli-skiing and tourism. For our tours, we operate "A-Star” helicopters, which seat 5-6 passengers and our MD500, with seating for 3 passengers. TEMSO has been flying tours for over 29 years in Alaska and is dedicated to the safety and service of our customers. TEMSCO Helicopters is a TOPS operator, which means they hold the highest safety standards, which exceed those of the FAA.

Half-Day Denali Survival Tour

Learn how to survive in the Denali wilderness! Tour Duration: 4 Hours What comes to mind when you think of Alaska? Is it gift shops, boardwalks, and buses? Or is it the rugged mountains, rugged people, and tragic stories of survival - like that of Chris McCandless in Into the Wild? If you answered yes to the last question, you’re just like me. And this tour is just for you. We created this tour to bridge the gap between those who want to learn more about surviving in the wild and those who want to spend thousands of dollars and take a week-long course in the wilderness. This tour is the perfect 4 hour introduction to survival in Denali. You'll learn what to do in the first 5 days of a survival situation. You'll learn how pick a good shelter location - and how to build that shelter. You'll learn how to make a fire with nothing but a shoelace and some sticks. You'll learn how to use edible and medicinal plants. And so much more. We'll pick you up from your hotel, take you to an area of boreal forest just outside of Denali National Park, and start hiking! As you hike, you'll be treated to wild edible plants and berries. Your guide will stop along the way to teach you a whole host of useful survival skills. You might wonder how we pack all of that into 4 hours. We got an expert with nearly a decade of experience teaching primitive survival to create this program for us. And remember - If you book this tour and decide it's not for you later on, you can cancel with a full refund until 24 hours before your departure! And if the tour doesn't meet you expectations, you get a full refund + $100 towards your next tour in Alaska.

Into the Mountains Tour

Duration: 5 Hours Do you like jaw-dropping views? A good workout? Learning about Denali? If you answered “no” to any of those questions, stop reading now. This tour isn’t for you. If you’re still reading, then this might be exactly what you’re looking for. This is the tour that one satisfied customer (Alicia G.) said was “the best guided tour I have ever had.” Are you ready? Leave the buses and boardwalks behind. Hike high into the Alaska Range. Feel the wind in your hair and the rocks beneath your feet. As the views begin to unfold, you won’t be able to peel your eyes away. The rugged mountains rise around you like monolithic castles. The wide valleys stretch into the distance. The greens, reds, and blues of the tundra create a patchwork quilt unlike any other. Now pick your jaw back up! There’s more to see, and higher to go! Toil further up the steep ridge. Scramble over jagged rocks. Stroll along saddles filled with beautiful alpine wildflowers. Later in the season, enjoy the bounty of wild blueberries, lingonberries, currants, and more. Keep an eye out for the elusive Dall sheep. You’re in their domain now! Your guide will point out signs of them everywhere. Maybe they’ll even lead you along a sheep trail for a time. But sheep aren’t the only animal you might see. Our clients have seen moose, bear, ptarmigan, stoats, porcupines, and more on the Into the Mountains Tour. So what do you think? Will you continue with the buses and boardwalks of most people’s Denali vacations? Or will you embark with us on a grand adventure into the Alaska Range, gaining a vantage point normally reserved for the Dall sheep and golden eagles? The choice is yours. And remember - You can cancel with a full refund until 24 hours before your departure! P.S. The map is inaccurate.
