Take this two-hour round trip up the Klondike Highway, over the White Pass, and to the Canada/Alaska border. Hear the story of the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898, as we tour through the beautiful town of Skagway and then up, following the path of the White Pass Trail, which was used by gold seekers to make their way north into the Yukon. Also, enjoy the scenery as we travel above the Tongass National Rainforest, and up to the Sub-Alpine Tundra as we approach the summit of the White Pass.

Get the best of both worlds. Take this 3-hour round trip up the Klondike Highway, over the White Pass, and to the Canada/Alaska border. Custom 7 Hour Emerald Lake Tour

Enjoy your local guide and private vehicle, as you follow the same path that the 1898 Gold Seekers took, from Skagway to the Yukon. You'll view tumbling waterfalls, glaciers, sparkling lakes, rushing rivers, mountain alpine, and forest scenery while listening to historical and present-day stories. Often, you'll see wildlife, which could include bears, moose, caribou, goats, and sheep along this 70-mile stretch of the Klondike Hwy. Stop a dozen times to take photos and/or explore. Take a group photo at the Welcome to Alaska sign. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant in Carcross or choose a picnic. Turn around at gorgeous Emerald Lake, the most photographed lake in the Yukon! You'll have time to choose a tour option on the day of your tour if you like. Your guide will let you know your options on the day of your tour, or you may choose ahead of time when you reserve this tour. Options cost extra and include Tutshi Dog Mushing Camp, Yukon Suspension Bridge, White Pass Train Ride, Panning for Gold, and a picnic with a longer hike or a short walk. Sample Itinerary: 7:30 AM: Meet your guide, who will be wearing a blue coat and holding a “Beyond Skagway” sign, at the end of your ship’s pier, just past port security. Head North, through Skagway. Emerald Lake + Tushi Dog mushing camp

This tour combines the ever popular Emerald Lake tour with a visit to Michelle Phillips and Ed Hopkins Tutshi Sled Dog Mushing Camp, where you’ll meet Michelle and her husband Ed, and their dogs. Michelle and Ed are veteran Iditarod and Yukon Quest mushers, and summer camp is an essential part of training for the dogs, keeping them fit and socialized. Pet the sled dog puppies and/or enjoy a 1.3 mile dog cart ride on a wilderness trail. Mushers shares their stories of life on the trail during a 10-minute talk after your ride. A visit to Michelle Phillip’s “Tutshi Dog Mushing Camp”, where you’ll meet Michelle and her husband Ed, and their dogs. Michelle races in the Iditarod each spring, mushing 16 of her 60 dogs from Anchorage to Nome in the famous 1,000-mile race. 2018 will be her 12th year! Pet her sled dog puppies (included in the tour cost) and/or enjoy a 15-minute dog cart ride on a wilderness trail, (Prepay for cart rides at the time of booking for $35/Adult and $25/Child). She shares her stories of life on the trail during a 10-minute talk after your ride. If visiting Emerald Lake is a priority for you on your tour, let your guide know, so they can time it out right! If Petting the Pups and a Dog Cart Ride is your priority, and you want less driving time, then you'll turn around at the Yukon Sign, making yours a five-hour tour. You pick! The cart ride experience is not included in the price of this tour, but is an optional add on. Decide on the day of your tour if you'd like to add this adventure! Dog cart rides are $68 per adult, or $58 per child in CAD. Klondike Highway, stopping at or passing by even more scenic viewpoints. 12:45 PM: Carcross for lunch ( not included in price ) Enjoy lunch at one of two vendors in town or ask us about a picnic lunch! Brave the Bridge and Emerald Lake Tour

In our "Brave the Bridge Tour", a variation of the Emerald Lake Tour, your group will visit and enjoy the Yukon Suspension Bridge in Canada at your own pace during your private tour. You will have 30-60 minutes to enjoy the historic Klondike Gold Rush displays, cross the bridge over the rushing, icy waters of the glacial Tutshi River, and grab a snack or hot drink at the cafe. Kids can participate in a free scavenger hunt at the bridge. On this tour, you may have time for one more additional activity. You can choose from, - a fun and a free scavenger hunt for the kiddos - a gold panning experience ( $18 per person ) - a stop at Michelle Phillip's dog mushing camp ( $25 admission for the whole group ). 7 Hour Ride the Rail/Emerald Lake Combo

Enjoy your local guide and a private vehicle in the morning, then ride the White Pass Train back to Skagway in the afternoon. Follow the same path that the 1898 Gold Seekers took, into the Yukon. If you like, visit Michelle Phillip's Dog Mushing Camp. Enjoy a meal at a restaurant in Carcross or order a picnic lunch. Turn around at gorgeous Emerald Lake, the most photographed lake in the Yukon! The Scavenger Hunt is fun for all ages! OPTIONS Option #1A - train up (am), van back (pm) - most popular! This 6 hour private van tour combines with the 7:55AM northbound White Pass & Yukon Route train. You will meet your guide at 7:20 AM to begin your tour, and return back in Skagway via van around 3:30 PM. Your guide will happily drop you off anywhere in town at the end of your tour, or right back at your ship. (7.5hr total duration) Option #1B - van up (am), train back (pm) This 6 hour private van tour begins at 9:30am. We will arrive in Fraser at about 3:10pm, for the 3:25pm train ride back to Skagway, arriving at 5:15. (8.25hr total duration) Option #2 - van up (am), train back (pm) This 5 hour private van tour begins at 10:45 AM at the dock for an 11 AM tour in a private vehicle into the Yukon! This tour makes it as far as The Yukon sign (turn around point depends on activities added on). But excludes Emerald Lake (included in the 7.5 hour tour option (option #1 above)). Your guide will get you to the train station for the 3:25 train from Fraser B.C. back to Skagway. At 5:15, arrive back in Skagway via White Pass & Yukon Route scenic and historic railway. Your guide will happily pick you up from the train drop off for a return shuttle to your ship. Brave The Bridge: 4 Hour Private Tour

Join us on this 4 hour tour over White Pass into Canada! This tour goes all the way to the Yukon Suspension Bridge as a turn around point. There is time for a visit to the bridge. Admission to the Yukon Suspension Bridge is $16 per person. Every guest does need to pay for bridge admission, whether they want to "brave" the crossing or not. There are restroom facilities, gift and snack shops, and a nice seating area on the deck for viewing. This is a wonderful stop even if you keep your feet planted on solid ground. Passports are required for this tour option.
