Taku Lodge Feast & 5-Glacier Seaplane Discovery
You’re in for the journey of a lifetime! We’ve combined the best experiences of Alaska for this unique 3-hour excursion. Glacier flightseeing, the remote and historic private Taku Glacier Lodge, wilderness trails, wildlife, and to top it off a scrumptious wild Alaska salmon feast. A true Alaskan experience, your adventure begins the moment you “take off” from the heart of the Juneau waterfront. Each passenger will take pleasure in an unrestricted view of the magnificent glaciers and deep blue crevasses of the Juneau Icefield. Snow-capped mountains, cascading waterfalls and lush forests await. A full narration allows continuous information while allowing the pilot to focus on their all important piloting duties. The Taku River will be your “runway” when landing at the Taku Glacier Lodge. This historic lodge was built in 1923 directly across from the picturesque Hole-In-The-Wall Glacier, and sits amid the untouched Tongass National Forest. Shortly after your arrival, the aroma of fresh Wild Alaska Salmon tells you the feast is about to begin. Your salmon entrée will be complimented with all homemade side dishes for either brunch, lunch or dinner, including actual glacier ice to cool your drinks. This truly Alaskan meal is presented with an elegantly rustic charm. While enjoying your meal, your host will entertain you with stories of Taku Lodges colorful past and characters like Mary Joyce with her famous 1000 mile dog sled trip that put the Taku Glacier Lodge on the Alaska map. This unique lodge is decorated with old dog sleds, hunting and trapping gear, furs and other Alaskan memorabilia. This is your Taku Glacier Lodge trip; MAKE IT WHAT YOU WANT! After your meal you may take in one of a number of options; wander the well-maintained trails of the old growth forest independently, explore on a guided interpretative nature walk, or relax with a beverage and soak in the serenity of a place scarcely touched by time. All the while keep an eye out for the black bears that can’t resist the aroma of fresh grilled Alaskan Salmon. A Tour With Taste
If you are a foodie then this tour is for you! Enjoy delectable king crab bisque, wild Alaska salmon, hog wings, and, of course, beer! You won't want to miss the tastiest tour in town! Locals will colorfully detail some of Juneau’s history and culture as you stroll along the beautiful streets of downtown Juneau. A brief introduction is given, then the fun begins! Each tour combines walking to tasting locations, eating delicious local foods, and learning about the lively history and culture that makes Juneau so special. Each participant will be provided a reusable shopping bag filled with recipes, additional tastings, as well as nearly $50.00 in coupon from downtown retailers. Brews & Views Tour
Drink like a local as we take you on an Alaskan adventure to Juneau’s 3 craft breweries, spending 45 minutes at each for tastings and good vibes. We’ll pause for two scenic photo ops—one a stunning view of the Mendenhall Glacier from Brotherhood Bridge and and the other at Juneau’s iconic waterfront statue, “The Whale”. Don’t worry—we’ll be the designated driver! With small group trips, it’s the perfect way to enjoy the beauty and beer of the Last Frontier.
Juneau Whale Watching & Tracy's Crab Shack Combo Tour
For this Juneau shore excursion, you're whisked off to the boat harbor for a 2 hour on the water guaranteed whale spotting. On-board our custom-made whale watching tour boat, you'll enjoy our wide viewing windows in a heated cabin and yes, there is a 'head' for your convenience. Once our informative and delightful captain spots the whales, the boat slows and out you go on our spacious decks to watch these beasts in their natural summer habitat. Your Naturalists' commentary is full of information about our Humpback whales and other possible wildlife such as Stellar Sea Lions, Dall's Porpoises, Bald Eagles -and just maybe you'll see a transient Orca whale. Our humpback whales come to feed in our cool, rich waters near Auke Bay for the summer. Although we guarantee a whale sighting, we can't guarantee what the humpbacks can do - But, you will be delighted if they tail-slap, head lunge, breach, or gather for bubble-net feeding. We then drop you off right in front of Tracy's crab shack! Bon appetit!
