About us

Misty Bay Tours is located in downtown Hoonah, right on the bay…now owned and operated by Alaska Galore Tours in Juneau. Icy Strait Brewing recently moved to the same location.

Let us share the magic of Alaska with you and your group. Our motto is that we offer our guests a “One Stop Alaskan Adventure” specifically tailored to each group. Want to go whale watching? We got it! Want to view our magnificent coastal brown bears? We got it! Want to take an eco-tour in our backyard, by vehicle or boat? We got it! Want to do it all? You can!

We also have a brewery and restaurant that offers lunch and dinner served daily, including pizza, pot pies, espresso coffee, ice cream, milkshakes, and more.

Conveniently located within the building is the Icy Strait Brewery. Taste some craft beer, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, and Alaskan-themed appetizers.

Let us host your Hoonah, Alaska adventure in this peaceful corner of paradise, richly populated by an abundance of wildlife and situated in unbelievable grandeur.

What we'll do

Experience the wilderness of Chichagof Island with our popular 3.5-hour bear/wilderness tour. On this tour, our goal is to locate coastal brown bears as well as other wildlife that may also encounter on our search. Watch brown bears in their natural habitat, experience the Alaska wilderness in the Tongass National Forest while also keeping an eye out for other residents of the island, such as Sitka blacktail deer and bald eagles. We don’t just go to one location and hope that bears are there but explore the island actively searching them out!

Our guides will also give a brief city tour en route to the bear viewing grounds. (Bear sightings are not guaranteed).
